Fortera is proud to be part of the #FirstMoversCoalition, the world's largest private sector demand signal for emerging climate technologies in heavy-emitting sectors. We joined the FMC to accelerate the market for decarbonization technologies critical to meeting the 1.5°C climate target. As pioneers in green cement, our commitment aligns perfectly with the coalition's goals. This week, we were pleased to join the FMC leadership team and fellow FMC member companies at a workshop in Washington, DC, to dive deep into problem-solving for the barriers to meeting the growing demand for low-carbon products and services. Together with the First Movers Coalition, we're not just envisioning a sustainable future—we're building it. #ClimateAction #SustainableBuilding #CleanCement #GreenCement #Decarbonization #EmergingTechnology

Thank you to Florence Jones and Sustainable Views for exploring solutions to decarbonize cement, including Fortera! Florence spoke to CEO Ryan Gilliam about Fortera’s circular alternative to conventional cement, which uses industrial CO2 from limestone calcination at existing cement plants to create new ready-to-use cement with 70% lower emissions. Our Redding ReCarb Plant in California is leading the way, and we're excited about plans to electrify the heating process with renewables at future plants, aiming for a 100% reduction in carbon emissions. https://lnkd.in/gUQaXh3s #SustainableInnovation #GreenCement #Fortera #Circularity

Green cement is here!! I have had the great pleasure of working closely with Fortera over the past few years as a Board member. As you may know, the cement industry generates roughly 8% of global industrial CO2 emissions. The magic of Fortera is that their proprietary process takes CO2 directly from the cement kiln and ultimately turns it into a cement equivalent product with an overall 70% reduction per ton in CO2 emissions. Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting the just-opened small commercial plant in Redding, California with the CEO of Fortera Ryan Gilliam along with colleagues from Temasek . I witnessed first hand some of the first green cement coming out of the plant. This is a major milestone and I am proud to see Fortera contributing to address the difficult challenge of CO2 emissions from cement.
