The Found Energy family has grown lately, and we couldn't be prouder of this incredible crew! To celebrate our collective hard work and achievements, we treated the team to dinner and an evening of team-building puzzles (both mental and physical) at Boda Borg in Malden, MA. Here's to a fantastic year of groundbreaking technological advancements, with many projects on the horizon and the continued growth of an incredible team here at Found Energy. #FoundEnergy #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork #StartUp #CleanTech

Transporting renewable energy is hard. We found a solution hiding in plain sight.
About us
Found Energy is building rechargeable aluminum fuel power systems aimed at eliminating carbon emissions from heavy industrial applications ranging from industrial heating (7% of global CO2 emissions) to maritime shipping (3% of global CO2 emissions). Building off technology developed at MIT that enables metallic aluminum to split water, our energy delivery systems safely generate hydrogen and/or industrial heat on-site at >5x the volumetric energy density of liquid hydrogen, >3x that of methanol and ammonia, and >25x that of Li-ion batteries. By integrating storage, transport, and generation into a single package, our technology solves some of the biggest pain points in renewable energy transmission and storage. At Found Energy, we believe in securing a livable and equitable future for our planet, and we are looking for partners who are motivated by this goal to join us.

We recently said goodbye to one of our Northeastern University Co-Ops, Chaney Dietz. A Chemical Engineering Major, Chaney was instrumental in developing P&IDs, writing documentation, and supporting the assembly of our in-house power systems, enabling rapid R&D progress across many of our projects. We’re going to miss you Chaney! We know you have big things ahead! 🥰🚀

STARTUP SPOTLIGHT: Found Energy Co-Founder and CEO: Peter Godart PARTNERS: Activate, Good Growth Capital, Collaborative Fund, KOMPAS VC, J-Impact Fund, and more. Found Energy is decarbonizing heavy industry by extracting clean energy from aluminum metal. Found's aluminum-thermal power systems are compact and modular, allowing energy to be extracted at double the energy density of diesel and at a competitive cost. Peter Godart, co-founder and CEO of Found Energy, is a former NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory scientist and MIT PhD whose background in developing aluminum-powered rocket landing systems positioned him to start Found Energy. Now, he is on a mission to address the climate crisis by turning waste materials into carbon-free, energy-dense replacements for fossil fuels. We had a great time at the ARPA-E Innovation Summit last week! We’re excited about the announcement of ARPA-E’s Vision Open 2024 Initiative, which will invest up to $150M to develop an Intermodal Energy Superhighway that will transport energy across the country in a multitude of ways to supplement the electrical grid. At Found Energy we’re building an aluminum energy ecosystem that unlocks aluminum’s natural ability to store and transport large amounts of renewable energy. Technologies like ours will be essential to creating the energy highways of the future, and we’re excited that ARPA-E is prioritizing initiatives like these! https://lnkd.in/euw5wXNM #cleantech #cleanenergy #arpae2024 #arpae

Recently, I sat down with Peter Godart, Founder and CEO of Found Energy who are decarbonizing heavy industry by working on carbon-free energy storage and energy transportation - literally moving renewable energy from where it is abundant to where it is not. Just last month, they announced their oversubscribed $12M seed funding from folks at Autodesk Foundation, Good Growth Capital, J-Impact Fund, KOMPAS VC, the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, Munich Re Ventures and others. The Collaborative Fund met Peter through the Activate fellowship and are proud to be one of their early supporters. Head on over to the Shared Future Fund blog to read more about what they're working on: https://lnkd.in/gKaCGx7M

Worlds colliding! Such a fun event to be a part of. Thanks again Iceland Innovation Week Melkorka Sigríður Magnúsdóttir Edda Konráðsdóttir
Where were you when the panel at Iceland Innovation Week turned into a BANEL? (Yes, that’s a band panel). 🎷 Mixing brains with beats and proving that we’re not your average conference, the BANEL features R. Michael Hendrix, José Ramos, Peter Godart, and Freyr Eyjólfsson and they performed Elegantly Wasted with pure elegance. 🎶🎹🎸 Needless to say, when these four innovators met online they decided their discussions would be worth listening to—and jamming to!

KLAK VMS x ADVEL in Iceland Innovation Week 🔔 We were happy to host a Happy Hour for KLAK VMS mentors last Thursday during Iceland Innovation Week, held at ADVEL Attorneys. Three founders presented their startups at the event: 💥 Agrain by Circular Food Technology, a food-tech company from Denmark. CEO & Co-founder: Aviaja Riemann-Andersen. Founded in 2018, Agrain processes the spent grain from breweries into aromatic and versatile flour ingredients, perfectly fit for a wide range of food products. Rich in nutrition, aroma and authentic colours. The upcycling of spent grain has a huge potential. From the same original grain, we can now both produce the beer we all love, but also exciting new ingredients - without cultivating more land. 💥 Found Energy from USA. CEO & Co-founder: Peter Godart, PhD frá MIT. Found Energy is developing a technology to use aluminium as an energy source and carrier. At Found, we are doing our part to mitigate and adapt to climate change by providing an inexpensive, safe, and ethical alternative to fossil fuels. Through our novel energy carriers, we are bringing clean energy to the most difficult-to-decarbonize industries on Earth. 💥 Kuratech from Iceland. CEO and Co-founder Kristján Óli Ingvarsson, lawyer. KuraTech develops a software solution that multiplies the value of bankruptcy estates through automation and increased visibility for liquidators, removing time-consuming manual work. Kristján Óli was a lawyer at ADVEL when the idea first took shape, he and his co-founders Árni Steinn Viggósson and Sara Árnadottir took the idea through the StartupSupernova accelerator at KLAK - Icelandic Startups last summer.
