September is National Suicide Prevention Month, a designation made in 2008 to help raise awareness and acknowledge those who have been impacted by suicide and help honor those who have been lost. Suicide rates in the United States have hovered between 10 and 14 per 100,000 residents, reaching 14.21 per 100,000 residents by 2022, the highest rate since World War II. That rate increased again in 2023. There are roughly twice as many suicides in America every year than there are homicides. Click now to learn more and spread awareness! Today is #worldsuicidepreventionday These statistics underscore the urgent need for awareness and prevention. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, a crucial time to reflect on the impact of suicide and take action by sharing awareness! The American Psychological Association identifies several warning signs that may indicate a risk of suicide: •Talks About Death and Self-Harm: Expressions of wanting to die, disappear, or engage in self-harm. •Recent Loss and Decline in Interests: Significant losses (death, divorce, separation) and a decrease in self-esteem, interest in friends, or previously enjoyed activities. •Behavioral and Personality Changes: Sadness, withdrawal, irritability, anxiety, fatigue, or a lack of interest in daily activities. •Changes in Sleep and Eating Patterns: Issues like insomnia, early waking, oversleeping, nightmares, or significant changes in appetite and weight. •Difficulty in Daily Functioning: Trouble concentrating on school, work, or routine tasks. •Erratic Behavior and Self-Harm: Fear of losing control, which may lead to erratic actions or self-harm. •Low Self-Esteem and Hopelessness: Feelings of worthlessness, shame, guilt, or the belief that things will never improve. These are real conversations we need to have in order to help educate. Share this message to raise awareness and support mental health. Together, we can make a difference.🌎🙏 #SuicidePrevention #worldsuicidepreventionmonth #NationalSuicidePreventionMonth #SpreadHope #MentalHealthMatters #suicideawarness #suicideawarenessmonth #awarness

Ever been left on read or suddenly cut off with no explanation? That’s ghosting—when someone abruptly stops all communication without any closure. People ghost rather than communicate due to a mix of fear, discomfort, or avoidance. It might feel easier than having a difficult conversation or facing uncomfortable emotions. But ghosting can leave the other person feeling confused and hurt. It can be very triggering. If you’ve been ghosted here are 3 coping strategies to help you move on. In therapy, we can explore these dynamics and develop healthier communication strategies.
