Established by our Chairman, Mike Dugan in 1984, Freestate Electric is a commercial electrical contractor with four offices and two warehouse/prefab shops, serving the MD/DC/VA region. Freestate’s 900 skilled union craftsmen are proud members of IBEW Locals 24, 26 & 307 and are supported by 160 dedicated employees in our Laurel, MD Owings Mills, MD Cumberland, MD and Springfield, VA offices. Freestate Electric is proud to be one the largest privately held commercial electrical contractors in the area, and is led by a team of local executives with over 300 years combined experience in the industry. Very proud to celebrate Freestate Electric's 40th Anniversary in 2024. Our founder Mike Dugan started Freestate in 1984 and because of his vision, drive and leadership, we've grown into one of the largest commercial electrical contractors in the DMV. Freestate's success today is based on the talent and skills of over 1,000 union craftsmen and 170 folks in our five offices who keep the wheels turning every day. Here's to another 40 years!
