The French Library Summer in French program brings so much joy to our team, as we live in a house full of children for a couple months. Providing an enriching experience for our little ones, both within our walls and in our beautiful city parks, is always a priority. We were delighted to join our Back Bay community and Mayor Michelle Wu in celebrating the grand reopening of the renovated Clarendon Street Play Area! Thanks to over $1.2 million in improvements, this space is now safer, greener, and more welcoming than ever. Our community at the French Library appreciates the efforts of Mayor Wu, District 8 City Councilor Sharon Durkan, and all the dedicated organizations and individuals who made this project a reality, including the Boston Parks Department, Garden Club of the Back Bay, NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION OF THE BACK BAY, The Learning Project, the Project Manager for this park Nathan Frazee, the Administrator of the Boston Housing Authority Kenzie Bok, Back Bay Liaison for Mayor Wu Maccon Bonner, and State Representative James (Jay) Livingstone. Your commitment to enhancing our community spaces is deeply appreciated. We were pleased to join in the celebration alongside our close neighbor, the John Winthrop School for Young Children and their Director Mary Beth Sweeney. About us
The French Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide French language instruction and cultural programs of the highest quality to inspire our diverse community of children, teens, and adults to explore, understand, and embrace today’s global world. Our library houses the second largest private collection of French books, periodicals, DVDs, and CDs available in the US. Our school, a member of the Alliance Française network, offers group, private, and online language classes for adults, children, and corporations. As a center for French culture in Boston, we host year-round cultural events including art exhibits, lectures, concerts, wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, and holiday celebrations like our Bastille Day block party. Our members enjoy benefits, such as borrowing privileges at our library, and preferred rates on classes, at cultural events, and with Club Avantage business partners.

A couple weeks ago, we had the pleasure to welcome the young graduates of the Everett Haitian Community Center for their end of year recital and graduation ceremony, with their Director, Rebecca Zama, and founder, Myrlande Desrosiers.
