About us
Our mission is to prepare our scholars for college and careers by guiding them in the development of learning skills needed to help them reach their full potential. Our vision is to develop an educational foundation for students to: be life-long learners, develop high skill levels, care for others, be adaptable, and be prepared to thrive in a diverse, changing society. A full International Baccalaureate School District, Fridley Public Schools serves the city of Fridley with two elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, an area learning center and a community education center. Fridley is one of a very few school districts that offer the IB Continuum to students in preschool to Grade 12. All schools in our district are authorized IB World Schools and we aim to be the best place to learn and the best place to work. We are seeking teachers who have a passion for teaching and staff who have a passion for supporting the education of our young scholars. We have various positions to meet diverse skills, experience, and schedules. We are strongly committed to equity and providing an equitable education and opportunities to all our students. We provide a welcoming and supportive environment for all students and staff. We provide numerous opportunities for professional growth, staff development and collaboration opportunities for staff. We offer competitive pay comprehensive benefits, including teacher loan forgiveness. Our staff gain experience working in an International Baccalaureate World School, a teaching curriculum that is inquiry-based with global perspectives.

The gap between the state funding FPS receives and the cost of educating each student has steadily widened over the past several years. In fact, if the formula allowance from the state of Minnesota had kept pace with inflation, our district would have received an additional $3.985 million in general education aid from the state during the 2023-24 school year. School districts must rely on local taxes—or operating levies—that require voter approval to bridge this funding gap. The School Board believes the time has come to seek an operating levy for FPS to maintain the high-quality educational experience our students need and deserve. One of the two items on the ballot November 5 will be an operating levy. Learn more and find answers to FAQs: https://lnkd.in/gjhQCnWx

On Tuesday, November 5, our community will vote on two ballot measures to address key facility and operational needs in Fridley Public Schools. The first is a proposed operating referendum that would enable us to maintain stable funding and invest in programs and services. It would also limit future budget reductions over the next several years. The second measure is a proposed $30 million facility bond referendum. If approved, it would have no preliminary tax impact, as some of the district’s old bonds will be fully paid off before payments on the new bonds begin.
