Reasons Excel breaks In this prior episode of Future Finance we had an amazing conversation with Jim O'Neill and he shared some great practical advice for using AI. We also discussed Excel and he shared the 3 main reasons Excel tends to break  Size limitations: For larger businesses approaching 100,000 to 1 million records, spreadsheets tend to break due to physical limits (e.g., Excel's limit of 1 million rows). This can lead to performance issues, slowdowns, and data corruption. Broken formulas and macros: As spreadsheets become more complex with multiple calculations and product-specific formulas, errors can occur due to forgotten reference changes or formula-on-formula calculations. This can cause the entire model to fail. Change management issues: Spreadsheets are vulnerable to changes in historical data or upstream data structures. Even small changes can have significant impacts on reporting and calculations. This includes changes in how data is structured in source systems like Salesforce or NetSuite, or simple date changes in transaction records. Jim emphasizes that these issues can lead to serious problems, especially for businesses that rely on spreadsheets for critical financial reporting and analysis. Will everyone be wearing AI-powered smart glasses in the future? Mark Zuckerberg sees a future with us all wearing smart glasses. He sees lots of different types of glasses with different tech and different price points. Will smart glasses become like smart watches one day? Today Meta offers smart sunglasses for $300 in collaboration with Ray-Ban and they are working to update the glasses with new AI technology. He says the goal is to create a great looking pair of glasses and then fit in as much tech as they can. The glasses today have: ➡️ Camera Sensors ➡️ Ability to livestream on Instagram ➡️ take video calls on WhatsApp ➡️ A virtual assistant What do you think are we heading toward a future where we will all be wearing Smart Glasses? What technology other than AI has you most excited moving forward? Ben Dooley shares two technologies that has him most excited moving forward that are not AI.  1) Customized drug therapies powered by CRISPR, highlighting their potential to revolutionize personalized medicine, he describes than as exciting and absolutely amazing 2) Quantum computing - He says when we achieve quantum computing some of the problems we face today will seem like Abacus problems.
