Advocating for, connecting, and educating the Asian Pacific American business community in Central Texas
About us
The Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce (GAACC)'s mission is to promote Asian Pacific American community and community at large as a catalyst for local and global economic growth through advocacy, connections, and education. Advocacy We engage with public officials at multiple levels: City of Austin, county, state, and federal through our membership with National ACE. At the national policy level, we support increasing opportunities for Asian Pacific American (APA) entrepreneurs, international trade, immigration reform, disaggregation of APA data and workforce leadership. Locally, we advocate on behalf of our members and the APA community at large to assist them with their business objectives Connections GAACC hosts numerous events to foster relationships. These include our marquee events, Ovation and Fall Classic, regular mixers, Connect Forum networking, as well as opportunities to connect with international delegations from Asia. We also frequently refer prospects to our members as well as connect members to opportunities as they arise. Education We offer business and certification workshops at the Asian American Resource Center. Our networking mixers are topical, and we host a number of informational panels with our minority chamber partners. Our member orientations are also opportunities to learn about resources and new regulations that will impact businesses. History

The Zilker Botanical Garden Conservancy has partnered with Austin Asian American Film Festival (AAAFF) to host a screening of the earliest known Asian American film “The Oath of the Sword” on September 5th at the Zilker Botanical Garden. Since its discovery, "The Oath of the Sword” has only been viewed publicly a mere handful of times including screenings at Harvard University and the Smithsonian as well as a premiere at The Academy Museum in Los Angeles, so we are honored to share this film with Austin. This silent film will be accompanied by a live musical score created by local Japanese American Composer, James Tabata, Austin Japanese Minyo traditional fisherman dance, VIP tours of the Japanese Garden with Evan Taniguchi, tasty bites from Asahi Imports & more!
