Our positive momentum continued throughout the second quarter, as strong demand for Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac vehicles helped us become #1 in U.S. sales in the first half of 2024. Now, we’ll look to continue building on that positivity as we launch more new SUVs than any other automaker this year.

“How we lead is as important as what’s achieved.” Earlier this week I had the opportunity to sit down with Leslie Picker and Ginni Rometty as part of CNBC CEO Council's #LeadersLibrary to discuss Ginni’s book "Good Power: Leading Positive Change in Our Lives, Work, and World." When I was first named CEO of General Motors, Ginni was one of the first people to reach out. Although we hadn’t known each other well prior, she quickly became a friend and trusted mentor. I’ve always felt a deep amount of gratitude to the kindness and welcoming spirit Ginni showed me early in my CEO tenure, and I try to pass that on to other women in business. I believe that networks are built over time by what we give to others. I’m proud to sit here today with Ginni, more than 10 years since she first reached out, to discuss her book, leading through transformation and the lessons we’ve learned over the course of our careers to members of #CNBCCouncils. Thank you, Leslie, for leading our discussion – it's always a pleasure! https://lnkd.in/gYtTpvMc

Executive Vice President of Global Manufacturing and Sustainability | Transformative leader forging GM’s path to zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion
For the past 23 years, the Lansing Grand River team has worked together to proudly deliver luxury and high-performance vehicles to customers everywhere. Their performance and commitment have been undeniable. That’s why in 2023, we committed that LGR would be a vital part General Motors electrification strategy, and today we were able to celebrate that GM has been awarded a $500 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to support this team and future. Today underscores our commitment to U.S. leadership in manufacturing and innovation, and I couldn’t be more proud or confident in our team at Lansing Grand River to help lead the way to a future we believe in. Thank you to U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm for attending today’s event and to Troy Comiskey, UAW Local 652 and our entire Lansing Grand River team for all that you do to support our customers, company and community. #IworkforGM #electricvehicles #manufacturing #allelectricfuture

Have you gotten behind the wheel of an EV? I always love seeing people’s initial reactions to our new products and technology. What’s even better? When it’s a member of the General Motors’ team. 🚗 Last month about 100 of our GM team members had a chance to take a spin in the all-new Equinox EV that’s just beginning to ship to customers, here’s what we heard: 1️⃣ Fun to drive: EVs deliver power instantly. The responsiveness of the vehicle was impressive, making driving feel effortless and agile. 2️⃣ Game-changing tech: The modern interior, touchscreen interface and advance driver-assist features are amazing. The first time you take your hands off the wheel to experience Super Cruise is a little scary. After a few minutes of using, it takes a lot of stress out of driving and is easy to see why customers who have it, love it and want it in their next vehicle, too. 3️⃣ Range Anxiety? Not Anymore: A common concern before driving an EV is range anxiety, but the Equinox EV has 315+ miles of range and with advancements in battery technology and expanding charging infrastructure, range anxiety is becoming less and less of an issue. Thanks again, Gina, for giving us a peek into your experience. I can’t wait to see more Equinox EVs on the road soon!⚡
