Generation Thrive graduated its third cohort of Bridging the Bay, Igniting Leaders of Change, presented by Rocket Lawyer to provide capacity-building and resources for executive and c-suite leaders guiding Bay Area pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade youth-serving nonprofits. We are inspired by the commitment of 16 nonprofit executives who came together to refine their leadership skills and transformative peer learning. Spanning three months of intensive leadership development training, participants gained skills in self-awareness, communication, critical thinking, inclusion, and collaboration, and received executive coaching sessions from industry leaders including Charley Moore, CEO and Founder of Rocket Lawyer. This cohort represented organizations focused on youth development, educational equity, mental health, and violence prevention. Bridging the Bay | Rocket Lawyer

Yesterday, Generation Thrive hosted Aloha to the School Year at Generation Thrive, Oakland, in honor of Teacher Appreciation and AAPI Heritage Month. This event was a luau-themed celebration for educators in honor of Asian American Pacific Islander month. Over 250 educators experienced live music, delicious food, engaging activities, and tons of free prizes and giveaways. During the event, a local Polynesian dance group guided educators through traditional dances. The event was hosted by NBC Sports Bay Area’s Zena Keita, MSM and Burton High School’s Wade King-Gallman, with a special guest appearance by Festus Ezeli and music by DJ D Sharp, the official DJ of the Golden State Warriors. Check out a media clip of the festivities below! Thank you Bay Area educators for all that you do!
