Recently, GA chapter recording secretary Marshal Maria McKee volunteered at a health fair sponsored by the NAACP and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. They worked to distribute Child ID kits, informing parents of the importance of proactive care. If ever needed, these kits provide crucial information to aid law enforcement if a child were to go missing. https://lnkd.in/e4S2xgmA

Last week, I was fortunate to be a guest speaker for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association Member Conference with some esteemed colleagues! I and our Homicide Commander, Lt. Andrew Smith, long-term Homicide Detective Summer Benton, and Crime Scene Commander Lashantise Porter conveyed the complete picture of how, after a crime happens, all the people that work together to find who or what’s at fault. Ensuring the community knows how things fit together within each area of the criminal justice system is essential for advocacy and accountability. I will always be a fan of that. Of course, it was a pleasure to be in the company of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Director Cleveland Miles, who gave the history of forensics at the GBI and more in-depth info on testing. All in all, great info was conveyed! #servantleader #educationisimportant
