Not enough words to express the gratitude I feel for all those who joined us at the 2024 Community Violence Intervention Conference. Over 900 attendees committed to forging connections and discussing strategies to promote peace and save lives. This space would be nothing without the energy and wisdom shared by each attendee, and we don’t take it for granted. An extra special shoutout to my fellow panelists Paris Davis, MPA,CNP Armando Torreblanca LaQuay Boone, MSW, LSW for the amazing conversation on the future of our work, Aim4Peace "The Movement to Stop the Shooting" for deservingly receiving the Lifesaving Service Award, and all those who had speaking roles and participated in organizing such a massive event. Wishing you all safe travels home, lots of rest, and looking forward to seeing the ideas you bring forth next year!

Congratulations Mike McLively on an incredible decade with GIFFORDS! Over the past 10 years, Mike has authored many reports, spoken on dozens of public forums, and has advocated for community-based solutions to end gun violence. Above all of those, Mike has brought joy to the critical work we do. Thank you Mike for your unwavering commitment to creating a safer world for all.

Whether it's building relationships with survivors across the country, managing our Florida newsletter, or supporting our Courage Fellows - Ellie is up for the task!

We're proud to be active members of GIFFORDS' Impact Network, a group of business leaders invested in bringing about real change to save lives from gun violence. Last week, it was an honor to join Gabby Giffords and her team and Chip Wade from Union Square Hospitality for a lively discussion and lunch to collaborate on ideas and solutions. We look forward to continuing our partnership and finding new ways to improve outcomes in local communities and make a national impact on this critical issue.

We are grateful for business leaders like Chip Wade of Union Square Hospitality Group and Johann Moonesinghe of inKind who are joining us in the fight to end gun violence.
