Write a letter to someone who needs it on #WorldLetterWritingDay. 💌 Mentee Sophia One started One Letter 4 All to use the power of the written word to uplift people facing difficult challenges including youth in detention centers, breast cancer patients, and Asian American elders. She worked in collaboration with staff at Girls Write Now and mentor alum Najaya Royal to bring letters of hope and joy to many communities. This Lead 360 project has sent hundreds of letters and brought awareness to important initiatives and organizations, including Radical Reversal, Heart of Dinner, Girls Love Mail, and more! We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Phil Donahue, talk show host pioneer, ardent feminist, and husband of Marlo Thomas. In 2019, we had the privilege of having Phil and Marlo join the Girls Write Now community at our annual Awards, where we celebrated the upcoming release of their book, What Makes a Marriage Last, published by HarperCollins. We will miss his singular, captivating way of speaking to us all, whether it was through our TVs or on the page.
