  • This week Anna Derevyanko from the Global Business for Ukraine joined the meeting of the Andalucia Trade business-club, where the second session was devoted to opportunities for cooperation between companies from Ukraine and Andalucia. More than 20 companies from Andalusia joined the event. The key purpose of the meeting was to present opportunities for doing business in Ukraine, challenges and risks, business opportunities for the community in the Ukrainian market in such sectors as the aerospace industry, infrastructure and construction works, health care, energy, and renewable energy sources, transport and logistics, agriculture. It is worth noting that Ukraine is currently an important market for Andalucía, as in 2023 the region purchased products worth more than 500 million euros from the country, especially sunflower seeds and oil. So, hopefully, business relations will only expand and develop in the future. We sincerely thank Andalucía TRADE for organizing this event, the opportunity to communicate with businesses from Andalucia, and we hope for further cooperation!

  • The Project on Prosperity and Development (PPD) at CSIS has partnered with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for a yearlong project entitled “Reconstruction and Investment: The Role of Innovative Finance in Ukraine’s Reconstruction.” The project aims to identify how to tailor innovative finance tools to catalyze private investments in support of Ukraine’s reconstruction and modernization, in particular, to better address the barriers experienced by the Japanese private sector. And on May 30, a round table will be held on the topic "Supporting Ukraine’s Private Sector: Removing Major Bottlenecks", which will be attended by Anna Derevyanko from the Global Business for Ukraine side. 📍What are 3 specific major bottlenecks affecting Ukraine’s private sector? What are Ukraine’s responsibilities and what are the responsibilities of Ukraine’s partners? 📍How do these challenges differ between large companies and SMEs, and what specific solutions are required for each? 📍What more can be done to address ongoing corruption and regulatory barriers? There is progress, but does it seem ‘too little too slow’? 🔎This and many other questions will be discussed. https://www.csis.org/
