🎾 As a former student athlete, it's a true joy to see GLSEN's Board Chair, Wilson Cruz, take part in the US Open's "Open Pride" celebration this week! Participation in sports has so many benefits for young people -- improving physical health, social skills and even psychological well-being. And while there have been some big strides in the fight for inclusivity within school sports and physical education, there is still more to do to ensure all students feel safe and included at school (in fact, there have been nearly 50 anti-LGBTQ+ school sports bans introduced in states across the U.S. this year alone). GLSEN's Changing the Game program exists to help achieve this vision for young folks nationwide. If you or someone you know is looking for resources to promote greater inclusivity in P.E. and youth sports & athletics, I definitely encourage you to check out & share our Changing the Game site below: #sports #usopen #lgbtq

✨ Happy Marsha P. Johnson Day! ✨ Today, we celebrate the birthday of a true icon. Marsha P. Johnson was a fearless leader in the 1969 Stonewall uprising, a founding member of the Gay Liberation Front, and co-founder of the Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (STAR). Her legacy of activism and advocacy continues to inspire us all. Let’s honor her today and every day. . . . Image description: Illustration of Marsha P.
