After gaining valuable experience post-acquisition at a larger firm, he yearned for the fast-paced excitement of startups. His search led him to Govly through Y Combinator, where he found the perfect blend of his skills and a mission he believes in—making government procurement easier and more efficient. Elliot's favorite part of working at Govly is undoubtedly the team. He genuinely loves the environment created by his kind, smart, and driven colleagues. This supportive and dynamic atmosphere makes coming to work incredibly rewarding for him. Additionally, Elliot enjoys the diverse problem-solving challenges his work presents, particularly the innovative and functional applications of AI, which have broadened his experience in ways he hadn't previously encountered. Outside of work, you'll find Elliot exploring parks and hiking trails around the Bay Area or binge-watching procedural dramas on Netflix. He's also an avid disc golfer, playing for the last 20 years, and recently moved close to a course to play even more. Music is also a big part of his life; there's almost always music playing in his house, and he loves discovering new artists and exploring the classics. Elliot values the ability to work from home because it allows him to achieve a productive flow state, something difficult in open floor plan offices. The constant distractions in those environments made it hard to focus. Now, with his own dedicated workspace, he can create a controlled environment that suits his working style, enhancing both his productivity and job satisfaction. While it may sound like a cliché for sales reps, Kiernan embodies this ethos, making a real impact through his work at Govly. 🌟 Employee Spotlight🌟 👤 Meet Sydney Hamilton, one of our Sr Sales Development Representatives, based in Boston, MA (until next week when she moves to Philadelphia, PA!) Sydney graduated from Penn State University in 2022 and started her professional career at Oracle as a BDR. She studied Entrepreneurship and Innovation in undergrad and always knew she wanted to be part of a start-up company. After being contacted by a recruiter and going through the interview process, she knew that taking the job at Govly was the right next step for her. She loves what Govly is doing, and having an awesome team is just an added bonus! 💡 Her favorite part of the job is experiencing things outside of the typical SDR requirements. With a passion for marketing, Sydney has been working with our head of marketing, Blake Thorne, to help run our company’s LinkedIn page. This role has allowed her to understand customers' needs on a deeper level and apply that knowledge to her SDR role. She loves connecting with customers from all over the US and helping them find solutions for their problems. 💻📞🎧 Outside of work, Sydney loves spending time outdoors, especially taking her rescue dog, Bean, for hikes where he can swim. She’s also super close with her family and loves spending time with her siblings. She is also a foodie and enjoys eating out with her boyfriend whenever they can, with Mediterranean cuisine being their favorite. 🐶🌲 Sydney is incredibly passionate about animals and has been vegan for five years, which she considers one of her proudest achievements. She feels deeply connected to animals and dreams of opening an animal sanctuary one day to rescue mistreated farm animals. She’s also obsessed with skincare and has invested quite a bit in products over the years. Sydney loves the flexibility of remote work, which allows her to avoid commuting, and be home to spend more time with Bean. 🐮🐷👩🏼🌾🧴 Fun fact about Sydney: She has dual citizenship in the US and Canada and has lived in five countries—Germany, England, Singapore, Canada, and the US!
