Keweenaw Mountain Lodge was in the inaugural cohort of the "Good for Upper Peninsula" project, a collaboration between the Sustainability Hub for Innovation and the Environment ("SHINE") at Northern Michigan University and People First Economy's Good for Michigan project. Student teams from Dr. Jessica Thompson's Sustainable Business class were paired with U.P. small businesses in developing action plans for more sustainable and people-focused operations. Generous donors have also supported student interns in assisting businesses like KML to implement their action plans. Another great example of partnership, thought leadership, and applied learning. As a part of kicking off Earth Month, we've chosen to release our annual (2023) Beer The Change Sustainability Report today. The report is part of our commitment to being transparent about our sustainability goals and practices.
