Love Your Lodge is our way of celebrating Pack Members who have made a career at Great Wolf Lodge. Today, we’re featuring Kayla Seamans, Director of Finance at Great Wolf Lodge Wisconsin Dells. 1. What do you love about working at Great Wolf Lodge? The people that I work with and seeing the excitement of the kids that come to the lodge. 2. What’s a way that you get to help out other Packs or other Pack Members working at Great Wolf? Understanding the financials and the impact they can make on our Pack Members and our lodge. 3. What’s a personal or unique aspect of your lodge that makes it so rewarding? We were the very first Great Wolf Lodge, originally built by a family in Wisconsin Dells. As a result, we have some families that have been bringing their children for years—and are now bringing their grandchildren to the lodge! Seeing them continue to make happy memories really makes the job rewarding.

Thanks to the support of our shareholders at Blackstone and the loyalty of the wonderful families who visit our resorts, we are experiencing remarkable growth. This growth opens up a wealth of career opportunities for our Pack Members, allowing them to advance professionally and achieve their goals.
Thanks to David E. at HOTELS magazine for an illuminating article on our growth success here at Great Wolf Lodge. The real acknowledgement, however, goes to our partner Blackstone, who has helped fuel this $2 billion growth cycle, allowing us to not only bring joy to countless families in the markets we are investing in, but also deliver significant economic impact. Between the opening of our 700-room lodge in Perryville, MD last summer, the 230-room expansion in our Pocono's lodge last Fall, the recent opening of our 532-room Webster, TX lodge and the upcoming opening of our newest 500-room lodge in Naples, FL, we have hired over 2,800 new Pack members and will provide these combined communities with millions of new visitors annually, contributing to substantial economic growth for years to come. The next generation of Great Wolf Lodge has arrived! Great Wolf Lodge Texas Gulf Coast, our 21st lodge, is officially open! This is an all-new lodge, featuring immersive and interactive design and storytelling that takes the Great Wolf experience to the next level. With its 92,000-square-foot indoor water park, 532 family-friendly suites, and more than 650 full and part-time employees, we couldn’t be more excited about our newest location. A huge thanks to all of the amazing Pack Members who made our second Texas lodge such a success. We’re thrilled to begin welcoming guests to this newest addition to our ever-growing family of resorts.

This August, in recognition of National Wellness Month, I want to share that here at Great Wolf Lodge, we believe we have an obligation to advance the mental well-being and overall health of our 12,000+ Pack members, both in our Lodges and on our Corporate Support Teams. At the beginning of the year, we appointed a Chief Wellness Officer, Dr. Romie Mushtaq, MD, ABIHM, to create a data-driven, customized solution to actively promote whole-person wellness for our Pack throughout the year. With Dr. Romie's expertise as a Board-Certified Physician in Neurology and Integrative Medicine, we are committed to focusing on three crucial areas: mental well-being, healthy habits, and caring/trust. By prioritizing whole-person wellness, we endeavor to help our Pack Members be the best version of themselves, reaching their full potential; in turn, we know they will do amazing work in helping us deliver on our mission of “Bringing Joy to Families” here at the Wolf. Together, we are Strengthening our Pack by creating an environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and inspired to do their best work and thrive. Pack Member safety is a fundamental element of our wellness program at Great Wolf Lodge. In recognition of National Wellness Month, we’re highlighting just a few of the safety initiatives that our Risk, Safety, and Compliance teams have been developing: • A new hydration initiative created by our Chief Wellness Officer, Dr. Romie Mushtaq, to enhance Great Wolf's Heat Safety Program • An ergonomics initiative to help maintain physical wellness in the workplace, featuring office enhancements and activities designed to benefit pack health • We’ve established a Safety Committee featuring Pack Members from all our lodges to come together once a month, discuss important safety topics, initiatives, and training tools to help keep our guests and pack safe. This summer, we welcomed eight students who joined us in Chicago from schools across the country for Great Wolf Lodge’s corporate internship program. They worked directly with teams in their fields of interest, and engaged in hands-on experiences with real-life projects and work. In addition to meaningful assignments and working in a supportive business environment, they had the opportunity to participate in activities that broadened their knowledge and experience. These included a lodge visit, Great Wolf’s “lunch and learn” events, social activities, and more. While most of them are ending their internship today, we’re so proud of each and every one of them for coming on this journey with us, and we wish them the best of luck in all future endeavors.
