Te Amo, Kansas City! Thank you to our hosts at Café Corazón for showing our Neighborhood Networking guests the love this morning. As promised, the coffee was muy delicioso as professionals from across the region enjoyed networking together in the Crossroads. Cafe Corazon is a Latino & Indigenous family-owned business that uses the finest local and artisanal ingredients, and Latin American fair-trade coffee roasted by them. It is also the only coffee house in the Midwest that serves Yerba Mate the traditional way.

When a group of motivated individuals come together around a common goal, anything is possible. That was the energy that filled the KC Chamber Board Room as the Public Safety Coalition hosted The State of Public Safety in Kansas City yesterday afternoon. Speakers included Kansas City Missouri Police Department Chief Stacey Graves, CITY OF KANSAS CITY MISSOURI FIRE DEPARTMENT Chief Ross Grundyson, Youth Ambassadors, Inc. Executive Director Monique Johnston and KC Common Good CEO Klassie Alcine. Each spoke about organizational efforts to disrupt crime and address the root causes that perpetuate violence. Kansas City’s crime statistics affect the entire region and the prevailing message was that solving the issues that result in violence will require all of us working together. Thank you to our friends in the media for joining us for this critical conversation as well.
