Today, our Greater Nevada team came together to support the amazing firefighters battling the Davis Fire in Reno. Our employees assembled and delivered 240 snack and recharge bags to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Station #36 as a small way to say thank you for their tireless work. Shortly after, other fire stations arrived to pick up bags for their teams as well. We’re so grateful for all the brave first responders protecting our community.

We had the honor of recently awarding The Children's Cabinet a $10,000 Live Greater Grant under our "Food and Housing Security" Community Pillar! This amazing organization provides crucial, no-cost programs and services to youth and families in Reno, Sparks, and surrounding areas. As of today, all GNCU branches in Reno are currently open as scheduled, and we're monitoring updates from the agencies involved as things progress. We also understand that events like this can have a significant financial impact on those affected. To help, we've made our Disaster Assistance Loans available, which offer deferred interest and waiver of select fees to support those in their time of need to move forward. In partnership with Community Health Alliance Nevada, we're proud to have provided Michael Johnson, MS, a custom Reno Aces jersey and special recognition at yesterday's game as our featured Community Hero! Mike is a retired healthcare executive with an emphasis in hospital, outpatient, and community outreach service administration, and was also a founding board member of Access to Healthcare Network. Mike currently serves on the Community Health Alliance Foundation Board of Directors and the Walker Basin Conservancy Development Committee. He also grows specialty organic vegetables, which he supplies to area restaurants. Thank you for all you do to support our community, Mike!
