By now many organizations have adopted AI for recruiting practices in some way. But our industry must stay diligent to ensure these technologies are effective and equitable, especially in light of new research showing these tools are biased against diverse candidates. We’ve seen a lot of articles (like this one) lately about businesses considering a six-day workweek. According to a recent survey by Resume Builder, 9% of business leaders polled said they plan to institute a six-day workweek in 2025 (compared to 11% planning a four-day workweek, and the vast majority sticking with the traditional five-day workweek). Whatever the schedule is, flexibility is essential for businesses to attract top talent. If a sixth work day is intended to provide more flexibility by spreading out required hours, then we can maaaybe see the potential merits. But compared to the other trend appearing in our newsfeeds – the coveted four-day workweek – we imagine the candidate pools for the six-day positions would be pretty small.
