  • Today we celebrate Labor Day with the launch of our campaign, Work That Makes Life Sweet. A nod to the late Black feminist writer bell hooks who makes the case for pursuing labor we enjoy. Honoring our “right livelihood.” While hooks's honors the dignity in labor, we also question the notion that we must labor in a traditional sense at all. We uplift the labor we all do in our daily lives to take care of ourselves and our communities. In two years, GRO launched In Her Hands, a guaranteed income program providing no-strings-attached cash to women in predominantly Black communities. Guaranteed income provides the necessary support for people to make choiceful decisions about their labor. To quit, to reduce, to pause, to care, to live. To labor in a way that makes life sweet. Join us as we share stories from our participants. This campaign is happening in collaboration with the amazing artist Charity Hamdullah! Check out our next post, in which we introduce her and share a little bit of her story! #GuaranteedIncome #WorkThatMakesLifeSweet

  • As we reflect on the last few months, we're proud to welcome 270 women to our new Westside cohort of #InHerHands. The first thing we asked: "What's next for you?" Their responses were clear—new careers, homeownership, financial stability, more time with family, and brighter futures for themselves and their children. Now, we work together to turn those dreams into reality A heartfelt thank you to the Westside community and our partner members for welcoming us with open arms, and to GiveDirectly for helping make this expansion possible. #GuaranteedIncome #EconomicJustice #Atlanta
