We are pleased to have had the opportunity to meet with Brian Francis and discuss the issues impacting our community. Specifically the lasting impact of our forceful relocation and amalgamation from our traditional lands. Brian, along with other Senate Members: Senator Judy White K.C., David Arnot, and BC Senator Margo Greenwood. The key take away shared amongst our delegation was that our Nations story and Chiefs were finally heard.

With a delegation led by Chief Terry Walkus of the Gwa'sala-'Nakwaxda'xw Nation! This afternoon I hosted a meeting with Senators Arnot, White and Greenwood to discuss some of the issues impacting the community, including the lasting impact of their forceful relocation and amalgamation from their traditional lands in the 1960s and their ongoing efforts to negotiate a treaty with B.C. and Canada.
