Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity
Non-profit Organization Management
Providing and preserving affordable homeownership in Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks & Marion County.
About us
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Since 1987, Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 965 families globally relocate from substandard and poverty housing into decent and affordable homes. Almost 600 of these homeowners are here in our community of Greater Indianapolis and more than 380 are in Central America. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. The foundations laid by Habitat go far beyond the physical structure of a home. Habitat for Humanity builds strength, stability, and independence through homeownership. To learn more or get involved, visit indyhabitat.org.

Check out one of our Women Build teams, Buckingham Builders, who just recently had their team build day with us. It was an amazing day where we made great progress on our two Women Build homes. Buckingham Companies is one of the many teams who have fundraised all year long to help us reach our goal. It's not over yet—we are almost there but need your help to get to the finish line. Support women empowering women and be a part of our cause by donating today! #IndyWomenBuild #EmpowerWomen #Donate https://lnkd.in/gjSYR63P
Check out our video recap of Buckingham's 2024 Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity Women Build! We raised $12,207 and had over 20 dedicated volunteers. Creating affordable housing in our community is one of our core missions. Volunteering is a key focus of Buckingham Companies, and we are thankful for the partnerships formed through the Buckingham Foundation. Our team worked on two houses, handling everything from hanging cabinets and installing bathroom vanities to adding the finishing touches on porches and closets. Check out the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority's summer magazine issue, where they highlighted many Habitat affiliates across the state. Along with notable projects organized by our neighboring affiliates, our first duplex in Noblesville was also featured in the issue. This milestone project showcases the collective effort and dedication of our community in providing affordable housing solutions. We thank the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) for partnering with us to complete the duplex and for shining a light on the many resources our community offers to make homeownership attainable. Their support and recognition help us continue our mission of building homes, communities, and hope. #AffordableHousing #HabitatForHumanity
The latest issue of IHCDA…the Magazine is here! In this issue, we explore how IHCDA and partner programs help make the dream of homeownership a reality for Hoosiers, and meet several new homeowners to learn their stories. We look back on the successes of Habitat for Humanity, with each affiliate having its own set of remarkable achievements and devoted contributors. Finally, we recognize Jim Williams, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County and recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash award, for his incredible accomplishments and altruistic spirit. Read these stories and more in the summer issue:

It's our birthday! 🎂 This month, we turn 37 and to celebrate we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for the generous support and dedication poured into our mission over the years. This milestone is a testament to the incredible community of donors, volunteers, and partners who walk alongside Habitat families on their journey towards homeownership. Since 1987, we have provided over 1,000 housing solutions locally, 650 internationally, and this year we celebrated the 200th homeowner who paid off their mortgage. Each of these milestones represents a story of hope, resilience, and a stronger future—stories that you have helped write. Thank you for partnering with us to turn dreams into reality for 37 years! #AffordableHousing #homeownership #DreamsToReality #birthday
