Meet Mpayan, a proud homeowner with our tithing partners, Habitat for Humanity Kenya. “I used to live in a tiny house with a grass thatched roof and it used to leak heavily when it rained. [...] I am so happy now that my children have a great space to study and the house feels more secure.” We’re proud to be a part of this tithing program, where we have the opportunity to extend our support to families internationally. With her two daughters, Mpayan is now enjoying a quality home where they can grow and thrive. This program allows us to make a meaningful impact beyond our local community, helping families like Mpayan's achieve safe, comfortable housing. #HabitatKenya #Homeownership #GlobalImpact

About us
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Since 1987, Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 965 families globally relocate from substandard and poverty housing into decent and affordable homes. Almost 600 of these homeowners are here in our community of Greater Indianapolis and more than 380 are in Central America. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. The foundations laid by Habitat go far beyond the physical structure of a home. Habitat for Humanity builds strength, stability, and independence through homeownership. To learn more or get involved, visit indyhabitat.org.

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the MDwise, Inc. Health Resource Fair, and what an incredible experience it was! We are always thrilled to step out into the community and connect with more families, sharing resources and support. One of the highlights was our conversation with City of Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett, where we discussed the vital importance of affordable housing and how families can join our program. If you or someone you know is looking for an opportunity to achieve the dream of owning a home, now is the perfect time to apply. #housingopportunity #homeownership #habitatforhumanity #firsttimehomebuyer https://lnkd.in/ggxMtgs8

We’re so proud looking back on our Tiger Team's Summer Ambush last week! 🐯 For the second year in a row, our Tigers have put on their own panel build—fully funded and volunteered by Tigers. This year, they have gone above and beyond, raising over $60,000! It was wonderful to see the many smiling faces working together to help raise the walls for Keyiona's home. We couldn't do what we do without this incredible group, and we give them our heartfelt thanks. 🧡 #TigerTeam #HabitatForHumanity A special thank you to Allisonville Christian Church for graciously hosting the event!

Shoutout to our Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity Young Professionals for joining our partners, Home Repairs for Good, to work on a project for a neighbor who has been in his home for more than 60 years. Together, they repainted the exterior frames, restoring the home to its former glory. Thank you, Home Repairs for Good, for all the great work you do and to our young professionals for going out and putting our mission into action! #CommunitySupport #HomeRepairs #YoungProfessionals #HabitatForHumanity
Two impactful projects. Two incredible groups. These teams joined us for our first group projects under our new brand, Home Repairs for Good, last week. Habitat for Humanity's Young Professionals rolled up their sleeves for an exterior painting project, supporting a gentleman who's lived in his home for more than 60 years. College Park Church came out for their first project with us, volunteering for a major yard cleanup for a disabled neighbor that is legally blind – helping the homeowner remove brush and debris. Thanks to these groups for their passion for keeping aging adults in the homes that they know and love.

This year, we celebrated the 200th homeowner who paid off their mortgage, securing a stable and prosperous future for their families. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of countless families who have turned their dreams of homeownership into reality. Each paid-off mortgage represents a journey of perseverance, stability, and community support. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey, helping to build stronger futures for so many. #paidinfull

Here's an update from our tithing partner, Habitat El Salvador. In response to the strong storms and rains in June, Habitat El Salvador packaged and delivered 500 family hygiene kits to shelters in multiple cities, including San Salvador, Sonsonate, La Paz, Usulután, and San Miguel. This is just a small example of the impactful work Habitat is involved in internationally. Your investment in our mission stretches not only locally but also globally, helping to fund vital projects in El Salvador. Thank you for your support and keep up the good work Habitat El Salvador! #GlobalImpact

Creating affordable housing in our community is one of our core missions. Volunteering is a key focus of Buckingham Companies, and we are thankful for the partnerships formed through the Buckingham Foundation. Check out the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority's summer magazine issue, where they highlighted many Habitat affiliates across the state. Along with notable projects organized by our neighboring affiliates, our first duplex in Noblesville was also featured in the issue. This milestone project showcases the collective effort and dedication of our community in providing affordable housing solutions. We thank the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) for partnering with us to complete the duplex and for shining a light on the many resources our community offers to make homeownership attainable. Their support and recognition help us continue our mission of building homes, communities, and hope. #AffordableHousing #HabitatForHumanity
The latest issue of IHCDA…the Magazine is here! In this issue, we explore how IHCDA and partner programs help make the dream of homeownership a reality for Hoosiers, and meet several new homeowners to learn their stories. We look back on the successes of Habitat for Humanity, with each affiliate having its own set of remarkable achievements and devoted contributors. Finally, we recognize Jim Williams, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County and recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash award, for his incredible accomplishments and altruistic spirit.
