  • 🚨 A Personal Message From our President/CEO 🚨 Dear Friends, Within our four walls, animals continue to decline mentally, emotionally, and physically--and only you can change that. The stress, loneliness, and lack of stimulation have taken a serious toll on the mental health of a record, 600+ animals in our care, as well as the staff and volunteers who are living a nightmare as they watch these once happy dogs plunge into depression. HSHC fully embraces a no-kill philosophy that gives every adoptable animal in our care a chance to live, love, and be loved. We have managed to sustain this even through the unrelenting, capacity crisis going on 2 years now. Our team is running out of emotional steam, and these animals are running out of time. You see, I believe there is a misperception that because HSHC embraces a no-kill philosophy, there is less urgency in adopting, specifically dogs, from our organization. People see our beautiful building and assume because all of these animals are now safe at HSHC, they will be okay. I need you to know that they are NOT okay. And, for the first time in well over a decade, we have had to euthanize once adoptable dogs--who after months of waiting for someone to come--mentally and physically declined to the point that the only humane thing to do was give them peace. Below, we have featured dogs who may be weeks, or even days, from the same fate. Our purpose is to provide sanctuary to abandoned, unwanted, and displaced animals. Our purpose is to save animals from their abusers and provide life-saving care to thousands more each year. We serve as their voice and fiercely advocate for their well-being. Our team raises the funds, provides the daily care, and creatively promotes and markets these animals every day. Our team has given more of themselves than anyone should ever be asked to keep these animals alive. We have done our part. And now, I am imploring our supporters and the Hamilton County community to rally behind their shelter by adopting a dog (or cat), so a cage isn't where their stories end. Clear The Shelters Adoption Event is this Saturday from 12-5pm. In place of our usual adoption fees, adult dogs and cats are only $10*, and kittens are just $50. All adoptions include a free one-month supply of preventatives, spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines, a starter bag of food, and wellness exam at a participating veterinarian. Plus, the first 50 families who walk through the door will receive a free goodie bag. In closing, I'll share a quote from one of my favorite songs by Oleta Adams. I tear up whenever I hear it as I imagine these animals would be saying the same thing if they could. I imagine the ones we've lost saying it to the very end. "I don't care how you get here, just get here if you can." Please don't wait, Rebecca Stevens President & CEO

  • 🚨 SURVIVOR IN NEED 🚨 Nelly ended up in our care because her owners could not provide her with the medical care she so desperately needs. We were told that she passes out, has brown nasal discharge, and her eyes were cloudy- put this was just the tip of the iceberg. Our dedicated medical team sprang into action to give Nelly a fighting chance. She has seen multiple specialists, stayed in foster care for close observation, and is on various medications to manage her symptoms. But Nelly’s battle is far from over, and that’s where our Survivor Program steps in. We need your help to raise $31,000 in just 4 days to replenish our Survivor Fund, ensuring Nelly and others like her get the lifesaving care they deserve. You can help us by donating at bit.ly/woofstockdonate or https://lnkd.in/ge5EduRh Every dollar counts and brings us one step closer to giving Nelly the happy, healthy life she deserves. Thank you for your kindness and generosity! 🐾❤️

Kobe needed you. ❤️🩹 Kobe overcame a terrible start to life when he was surrendered to our care at just four months of age, severely matted and covered in painful urine scalds on the lower half of his body. His tiny back legs were deformed at birth, preventing him from walking or running the way every puppy deserves to enjoy. But, the Survivor Program made Kobe's dream of feeling the breeze flow through his fur a reality. Kobe needed you- And you were there. ❤️ Kobe recently got a special set of wheels funded through the Survivor Program and can now zoom around to his heart's desire – he is just one of the many reasons to donate to the Survivor Program through the Woofstock Survivor 5K & Dog Walk. Woofstock funds all life-saving medical care for the thousands of animals each year, as well as the cost associated with rescuing hundreds of animals at-risk for euthanasia in Indiana kill shelters. We need YOU to help us save all the "Kobes" that will come through our doors this year. We are at 51% of our goal of $70,000 with less than a week left. Donate at bit.ly/woofstockdonate today. 🐾

  • The number of sick, injured, and neglected animals coming to us has depleted the funds in our Survivor Program. The Survivor program provides life-saving medical care to those who need us most. This program is what nearly 60% of the animals in our care rely on, without it there are no second chances. It is with the utmost urgency that we ask for your life-saving support by donating today to the Woofstock Survivor 5K & Dog Walk. We only have 8 days left to reach our goal of raising $70,000 to replenish the Survivor Program fund. At this very moment, hundreds of animals are counting on us. Don't let them down, donate today. Meet our Survivors❤️ Mazda the puppy - You can see it in his eyes, Mazda didn't deserve his critical, Parvo diagnosis. With a mortality rate of 91%, immediate action was needed to save Mazda's life. Without the Survivor Program, Mazda would not have received the top-notch care he needed. He could have been a statistic, but now he is a Survivor. Caroline & Fetty - Caroline and Fetty are from two separate litters, but through the Survivor Program have formed a strong bond. Both underwent surgeries to remove infected eyes. While Caroline lost both, Fetty was able to keep one. Fetty now serves as Caroline's eyes, and Caroline serves as Fetty's bestfriend. Our list of survivors never ends. But, with your help they will get their second chance. Every donation counts. Save a life today. bit.ly/woofstockdonate
