How it works❣️Today we're highlighting our Outreach Initiative - Happy Packs. Happy Packs are one way we connect families 👨👩👧 to our programs. They contain five diapers as well as an information card that explains who we are, and how families can find a HappyBottoms partner agency and enroll in the Monthly Diaper Program. We distribute Happy Packs at community events 🎡 and health fairs⚕. We also give them to community partners like first responders 🚔, libraries 📚, churches⛪️, food pantries, hospitals 🏥 and many more. So far this year we have distributed 4,702 happy packs🎉. Today, we bid a bittersweet farewell to Brandon Selig-Votaw , as he embarks on his next adventure, working for the National Diaper Bank Network. For the past three years, Brandon has put his heart and soul into the volunteer program at HappyBottoms, guiding thousands of incredible volunteers and forming lasting relationships that have made a real impact. His revitalization of our mobile wrap program brought the volunteer experience to communities all over Kansas City, engaging thousands of employees. While we're sad to see him go, we're thrilled that his next chapter will keep him close to the HappyBottoms family. How it works❣️Today we're highlighting our Potty Training Education Program 🎓 This transitional stage in a child’s life can be stressful 😫for the child and the parent, if not done at the proper time. When a child in our monthly diaper program reaches the age of 2️⃣, the partner agency staff provides the parent with a potty training readiness assessment 📝. We ask questions like “Does your child stay dry for two hours at a time and wake up dry from naps❓”“Is your child able to pull their pants up and down with some help❓” If the child is ready for potty training, HappyBottoms provides a potty seat, step stool, reward chart with stickers, board book and a parent guide to potty training.
