Our Jennifer Hrabchak Molinsky joined Deb Becker on the WBUR program On Point to discuss the growing trend of intergenerational living. #housing #olderadults https://lnkd.in/e3_mg8Gg

“It's the fundamental sin in our disaster policy in this country, that everything is based on property and possession,” says Carlos Martin. Many renters have less wealth, and receive less government assistance after disasters, than homeowners, and suffer more severe and long-term financial impacts as a result. https://lnkd.in/eJ8hbWfD

In 2022-2023, 6 million people immigrated to the US, far outpacing the 900,000-person annual average in the 2010s. These new arrivals are already having an impact on the #housing market, but their full effect on household growth will take some time to be fully realized, writes Riordan Frost in a new blog. https://lnkd.in/eprx385R

Proud to see this paper out in the world! Huge thanks to Alexander Hermann, Whitney Airgood-Obrycki, and Peyton Whitney for an incredible paper!
As housing affordability challenges climb the income scale, state and local governments have adopted policies and programs to explicitly address the needs of middle-income #renters. A new paper examines what these programs are intended to do, what the potential benefits are, whom they serve, and the policy tradeoffs that might occur if state and local governments prioritize middle-income affordability challenges. https://lnkd.in/eRF-h8MP
