Introducing Elizabeth Flores, Producer Alternate of the #HassAvocadoBoard. 🥑 Elizabeth was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and raised in San Diego, California. She pursued her education at San Diego State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in International Business with an emphasis in Finance. In 2008, after graduating, she relocated to Ciudad Guzman, Mexico. Elizabeth grew up visiting avocado orchards that belong to her family. Initially, she began her career within the industry, working for a packing house in Jalisco, Mexico, where she assisted in developing the food safety and quality program for the company to get its first certification. She moved back to San Diego in 2011 and worked as a social worker for the County of San Diego. With hopes to get back into the avocado industry, in 2017, she applied and was hired by Mission Produce and moved to Oxnard, California. Her current job title is North America Quality Assurance Manager, and she oversees the quality program throughout Mission’s distribution centers and orchards. She reports on the dry matter for Mission’s orchards and the quality of the fruit coming from the orchards. Elizabeth is immensely proud of her professional growth with Misson Produce. As a recent Board Leadership Development (BOLD) Class 2 program graduate, Elizabeth visited Washington, D.C., and met with representatives from USDA to learn more about the agriculture industry. She also attended virtual board meetings for the Mexican Hass Avocado Importers Association (MHAIA), California Avocado Commission (CAC), and Colombia Avocado Board (CAB). Elizabeth is married with two daughters and two dogs. She spends much time outdoors with her family, especially visiting parks. Her favorite way to eat an avocado is sliced in a handmade corn tortilla with a sprinkle of salt. Elizabeth joined HAB in December 2023 as an avocado producer alternate member, and her term expires in October 2026. Cheers to you, Elizabeth! Your dedication and achievements in the avocado industry are remarkable. We are excited to keep working with you and can't wait to see what the future holds. #Leadership #AvocadoIndustry #Avocados

Last month, we had an incredible three days of learning and growth at UC Davis with the new BOLD Class 4. Professors Kristin Kiesel and Rich Sexton led engaging sessions that brought together 14 passionate participants from across the USA and the world. We were happy to host producers from California, Mexico, and Peru, alongside importers from Florida, New Jersey, California, Texas, and beyond. During the event, participants explored: ✔️Measuring marketing program success ✔️Understanding avocado consumption drivers ✔️Exploring the elasticity of avocados to volume and price adjustments ✔️Gaining insights from other Research & Promotions boards and marketing orders ✔️Getting a 30,000-foot view of modern agricultural systems and future food security challenges Beyond the enriching sessions, attendees had the opportunity to network, build connections, and develop lasting relationships—an essential aspect of the BOLD program. We’re excited about the journey ahead and the innovative ideas that will emerge from this dynamic group. Here’s to the future of avocados and the amazing people behind them! 🥑 John Berns Dane Dominguez Adam Dominguez Jean-Claude Mercier Ganoza Galen Johnson Saúl Medina Tejeda Angel Sañudo L Carlos Duarte Diana Laura Flores Murillo Enmanuel Carrero Ryan Larkan Andrew Prechtl Katelynn Molchan Megan Berenbach #AvocadoIndustry #Networking #Agriculture #HassAvocadoBoard
