  • BIG NEWS! TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is planning to bring a freestanding emergency room to White House, Tennessee! “We are proud to be the hospital of choice for the residents of White House and surrounding communities, and we look forward to bringing our care closer to home,” said Justin Coury, CEO of TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center. “This new freestanding emergency room will ensure that residents can access high-quality emergency care much faster which can save lives.” TriStar Hendersonville plans to apply for a Certificate of Need with the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission to build a state-of-the-art emergency room that will enhance healthcare access to critical emergency services. We are excited to expand our services to this growing community and look forward to providing life-saving care closer to home. A freestanding ER can do all the things a hospital-based ER can do. It can treat heart attacks, strokes, broken bones and other emergencies. The only difference is that it isn't connected to a hospital, allowing them to be located in communities that are miles away from the nearest ER to provide faster care. The proposed freestanding emergency room will feature: • 11 treatment/exam rooms • Trauma room • Imaging department • Nursing station • Support space #HealthierTomorrows

  • Today, we're proud to shine the spotlight on Jessica Woods, BSN, RN, C-EFM, who serves as a labor and delivery manager at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center. As a Care Transformation and Innovation (CT&I) Innovation Hub, our Hendersonville-based hospital is at the forefront of efforts to improve healthcare technology and provides a living environment for care process design and testing. Jessica is working alongside the CT&I team by leveraging technology to test solutions to support labor and delivery clinicians in their quest to improve maternal safety. “The beautiful part of innovative work is that it’s challenging and uncomfortable but rewarding at the same time,” said Jessica. “Innovation may change programs and processes you’ve always known, but it is about making our work better, faster and more intuitive, allowing us more time with patients and families to positively impact their lives and leave them better than we found them.” Learn more about how Jessica is shaping maternal care solutions of the future at HCA Healthcare Today: https://bit.ly/4bEpKKg #HCANursing #CareTransformation

  • Today is #Juneteenth, a celebration and reminder of the official end of slavery in the United States. As part of HCA Healthcare , we remain committed to creating healthier, more equitable tomorrows for our patients, colleagues and communities.

  • TriStar Health Veterans Colleague Network members from TriStar Summit Medical Center and TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center recently gathered to assemble goodie bags for local veterans at Operation Stand Down Tennessee in Nashville, TN. Operation Stand Down is the only comprehensive veteran-serving agency in Middle Tennessee that connects veterans with careers, community and crisis services. Because many veterans are unhoused and/or transient, they often need food and supplies. Working with Operation Stand Down, our Veterans Colleague Network wanted to give back to help our local veterans by donating needed goodie bags. We are grateful to our veterans for their service to our country and willingness to help other veterans in our community. Two hundred goodie bags were delivered to Operation Stand Down this week on behalf of our veterans at TriStar Health. #WeShowUp

  • While every cancer survivor has their own unique journey, many are inspired to become advocates for other cancer patients. This is the case for TriStar Health nurse, Makayla Claussen, who cares for stem cell transplant patients at HCA Healthcare’s Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Makayla supports patients undergoing the same treatment she received during her own battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Her personal cancer journey drives her commitment to her patients and adds a unique layer of understanding to the care she has been providing as a nurse for six years. “I know personally what it feels like to be a cancer patient,” Makayla said. “I am a nurse because I have been there and these patients become my best friends.” In August of 2023, Makayla celebrated her one-year anniversary as the first clinical nurse coordinator at the hospital’s outpatient infusion center. Her hospital family also helped her celebrate another meaningful milestone that month — 10 years of cancer remission. • On May 8, 2024, a devastating EF3 tornado moved through parts of the Maury County community, destroying hundreds of homes along its path. This week HCA Healthcare and TriStar Health announced a $50,000 contribution to support relief efforts — with funding going to the Maury County Storm Victims Fund that is currently helping support community members who were directly impacted by the storm. "Our County appreciates this generous donation of $50,000 from the TriStar Division of HCA Healthcare so very much at this difficult time. The money will go directly into the Maury County Storm Victims Fund and will only be used locally,” said Maury County Mayor Sheila Butt. “The fact is that after a disaster such as we experienced on May 8th with the tornado, it takes a strong, resilient community to rebuild houses, lives and homes. This donation will go a long way in helping those with the most immediate needs and those who may have hurdles to cross in rehoming. Thank you, HCA Healthcare and TriStar Health for helping support our community in this way."
