On September 24th, Central Texas local businesses, organizations, and venues will be hosting live music in celebration of what is best about our city—its musicians—in an effort to raise much-needed funding for the musicians the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) serves. Today, as part of its continued commitment to the Austin music community, the PNC Foundation announced a three-year, year-round partnership with the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). The renewed sponsorship with HAAM will make the PNC Foundation the organization’s exclusive financial education partner and the co-lead supporter of HAAM Day, Austin’s biggest fundraising event supporting local musicians. HAAM provides a lifeline to Austin musicians, and since 2005, has helped its members access $191 million in healthcare services, ranging from primary and specialty care, dental, vision, hearing, mental health, basic needs and other services. Support from the PNC Foundation will allow HAAM to provide comprehensive healthcare to ensure Austin's vibrant tradition of live music continues to be a cultural and economic driver for the community. 75% of HAAM musicians make less than $30,000 a year. PNC's support, along with additional philanthropic dollars, will help HAAM serve more than 3,000 clients annually.
