The week of July 4th was busy for our team in Oklahoma! The engineers have been focused and the site is looking incredible. Everyone managed to take time to appreciate the beauty of the countryside, see some fireworks in #PoncaCity, celebrate the birth of the country, and appreciate the United States' leadership through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in supporting the development of carbon capture technologies. We are proud of the work that's been accomplished so far on Project Bantam, and we are thankful for our hard-working team of onsite engineers. Bantam will begin carbon capture operations this summer! Upon launch, it is poised to be the largest operating DAC facility in the US. Interested to learn more about our affordable process for large-scale carbon removal and permanent storage? Affordable, Verified DAC.
About us
Heimdal builds machines that permanently capture and store atmospheric CO2. Congress has passed legislation (IRA) guaranteeing a price of $180/tCO2 removed via Direct Air Capture until 2032. We are building technology that profitably captures CO2 with this tax credit, right here in the United States.

The system for regenerating our CO2-capturing sorbent material at #ProjectBantam is looking gorgeous! 💚 Heimdal's technology takes all-natural limestone 🪨 and unlocks its ability to capture CO2 from the atmosphere ☁. Once filled with CO2, the material is collected and brought to the kiln shown here for heating 🔥. That heat releases the CO2 from the limestone as a concentrated gas, ready to be sent to our partners for permanent storage. 📦 We cannot wait to see it in action at our first facility! Project Bantam is set to be the second largest operational DAC facility in the world 🌎, launching this summer! Want to learn more about our process or first DAC facility? 🤝 We are thrilled to be collaborating with and learning from Black & Veatch to help optimize and scale our DAC technology with their #IgniteX Carbon Dioxide Removal Program! 📐 Working with experts who have shown a track record of success in sustainability infrastructure will ensure we remain on pace to transition quickly from Project Bantam (launching this summer!) to our next phase of scale-up. Thanks to all who helped get us here! We look forward to hearing back from our CTO Chris Mitchell, who is in-person getting us started. Learn More: https://lnkd.in/eTQbyntH

CEEZER revealed the seven companies selected to be part of its second Carbon Coalition cohort including CO2BC members: SeaO2 and Heimdal The CEEZER Carbon Coalition provides startups in the voluntary carbon market with the tools needed to bridge the gap between ideation and commercialization. The program addresses the challenges typically faced by project developers such as increasing buyer awareness, understanding buyer needs, navigating contracts and registries, inventory management, and carbon credit pricing. Learn more about the seven companies selected for CEEZER’s second cohort below and thanks to the coalition team for recently inviting CO2BC Director Isabella Corpora to speak on policy. https://lnkd.in/eAxvZWEA #CarbonManagement #CarbonRemoval #ClimateTech

We are thrilled to introduce the seven startups joining our second CEEZER Carbon Coalition cohort! The following seven innovators are driving change in the voluntary carbon market and have been selected for 2024 Carbon Coalition program: – AirSmat Inc is an AI-driven Agtech democratizing the production of high-quality biochar to sequester carbon and improve the farmers' livelihood across Africa. – Heimdal is building novel limestone-based direct air capture units aiming to scale operations to 1,000,000 metric tons by 2027-2029. – PRONOE develops water treatment systems that integrate downstream of coastal industry, using the ocean's natural ability to capture and remove CO2. – RECOAL AG converts waste biomass into hydrochar, also known as Negative Emission Coal (NEC). A patented process ensures that the NEC permanently remains in underground vaults. – SeaO2 deploys direct ocean capture technology to sequester CO2 through a scalable and cost-effective electrochemical reaction. – Silica permanently sequesters CO2 and improves crop yields for smallholder farmers through enhanced rock weathering. – ZeroEx develops high-quality, regionally focused enhanced rock weathering projects to sequester CO2 and improve smallholder farmer livelihood. Through the Carbon Coalition, CEEZER provides early-stage project developers the resources and guidance needed to commercialize and create widespread impact. This de-risks early removal offtake, helping promising startups gain tangible commercial traction from large international buyers.

Deadline approaching! 📢 The FECM is seeking public input on its Voluntary CDR Purchase Challenge. The Challenge aims to catalyze voluntary carbon credit purchasing, improve transparency of the carbon credit supply, and foster the rapid growth carbon removal projects. Submissions close May 14th and we encourage everyone to weigh in! Participation helps ensure everyone’s voice is heard. Seeing carbon offtake agreements grow inspires us to keep innovating on DAC, and we look forward to seeing more deals made in the coming years. New companies getting involved in supply and demand will go a long way towards expanding the market and achieving the carbon removal needed to meet global sustainability goals! #netzero2050 #vcm #carbonmarkets #carboncapture 🌐
