Navigating the legal waters in the cannabis space is like sailing through the Bermuda Triangle ⛵️
Laws are constantly evolving at the city level, state level, and federal level and they aren’t all black and white.
Laws can be misinterpreted or latent - they don’t all kick in right away ⌛️
But understanding cannabis laws can also be a massive opportunity.
Cannabis folks who can operate in that legal gray area and find loopholes or workarounds get a huge leg up on those who sit back.
But the only way to get that leg up is to work closely with professionals who understand the law inside and out.
For example, in MN the laws around advertising on Billboards right now aren’t crystal clear.
And billboards have surprisingly been a super effective channel for us at Hemp House MN.
Well, the laws that have allowed us to advertise on billboards may change in 2025 when the office of cannabis management takes the reins.
But that doesn’t happen until 2025.
Yet, one of the billboard companies we work with thought that the latest legislation meant we couldn’t work together anymore.
After some back and forth and some legal speak, we finally got some clarity and the opportunity to keep milking that channel.
But we would not have gotten that W without working with a versed legal expert.

So what’s the takeaway?
As cannabis brands, we should always be looking to learn from legal experts. Having one in your corner not only covers your ass, but it can help you find ways to use the law to your advantage.
Which is why we’re teaming up with Clean Green Media and doing a Fizzy THC Lawnch and Learn 📚
With the help of David Standa from Greenspoon Marder LLP, cannabis brands can learn a thing or two about laws around MN.
So to all my peers working in the cannabis space, we invite you to join us on Friday, September 22nd at The Wilderness Co-Working in Uptown.
Grab a coffee, pop a Fizzy THC sugar cube, and who knows, maybe you'll find your next opportunity. ☕️
