Our own Denise White-Perkins, MD, PhD and Jim Snyder, DO, were among the line-up of world class speakers to present at the annual Breakthroughs conference hosted by Premier Inc. Breakthroughs connects the leaders and partners of the healthcare industry so they may empower one another to provide the very best patient care to our communities. The duo’s session was titled “Advancing Health Equity Through Research, Innovation and Implementation.” An additional session, “Beneath the Surface: Uncovering the Burden of Suboptimal Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Screening and Management,” was presented by Henry Ford Health physicians, Mariam Costandi, MD and Kausik Umanath, MD, MS. The project is facilitated by HFI and is now being implemented by Henry Ford’s Family Medicine service line. HFI Program Director Kate Zenlea is a core study member for both projects and also attended the conference. We are proud to have been a part of such an inspiring conference focused on innovators working together to improve the health of all.

Strengthening Global HealthTech Innovation: HFI at the Michigan HealthTech Mixer 🌍💡 Henry Ford Innovations (HFI) was proud to play a key role in the recent Michigan HealthTech Mixer on Tuesday, August 13th, hosted by the Michigan Israel Business Accelerator (MIBA). This event brought together leading innovators, investors, and startups from Michigan and Israel, united by a shared commitment to advancing healthcare technology. Our very own Lisa Prasad, Vice President of HFI and Chief Innovation Officer, expertly moderated the Investor Panel. We were also delighted to see Frank Urban, Director of Venture Creation at Spartan Innovations, a very close partner of HFI, contributing as a panelist. Their insights and experience added significant value to the discussion on the future of healthtech. This event was a testament to the power of collaboration between Michigan's robust healthcare sector and Israel's dynamic healthtech ecosystem, ranked #4 globally in healthtech startups. An advanced innovation project applying classroom learning to solve a specific technology or healthcare problem also is assigned. Applicants are encouraged to come prepared with a specific healthcare need or problem they are interested in addressing through the program.   HFI will select 30 Davidson Fellows who bring a passion for healthcare innovation, an entrepreneurial spirit, and diverse professional experiences that are additive to the education of their peers.
