Sometimes you realize the best response to a very good question with a little contemplation time. This happened to Rudy Diaz following panel participation at Friday's HTA DrayTech event. There's no time like the present to share some meaningful insights about the best path to a zero emissions future. In a utopian scenario, where would he like to see the industry in 5 years? 1. Reduce Truck Costs: Encourage OEMs to lower prices. 2. Build More Infrastructure: Accelerate the construction of charging facilities. 3. Improve Truck Efficiency: Lighter, more efficient batteries with longer ranges. 4. Cut Through Red Tape: Streamline policies to support infrastructure development. A momentous day for the Port of Long Beach, Forum Mobility and a our community in terms of sustainability. Yesterday we celebrated with Forum for a groundbreaking of their Harbor Depot, set to support the charging of over 200 trucks daily. Hight Logistics celebrates #EarthDay by honoring our partnership with Evertreen, a company with a straightforward mission to plant trees around the world and offset CO2. Together we've planted 2000 trees between Ethiopia and Madagascar, and were excited to recently learn that our planting round was entirely supported by women in these regions. "The next time micromobility company Lime accepts a shipment of e-bikes and e-scooters in California, a new state law means the cargo must be loaded onto an electric truck. Drayage trucks, which bring cargo from ports to warehouses nearby, must make the move to electric by 2035 in the U.S. state.
