About us
HopeHealth provides integrated health services for more than 50,000 patients in areas surrounding Aiken, Clarendon, Florence, Orangeburg, and Williamsburg counties. It was founded in 1991 as a grassroots HIV/AIDS support organization, and was designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center in 2007 to expand its services to include primary and pediatric care. HopeHealth has 12 locations and over 90 providers covering primary care, dental care, chiropractic care, behavior health and psychiatry, pain management, substance abuse, rheumatology, endocrinology, and women’s health services. Rheumatology services are now offered at HopeHealth in Orangeburg. This is exciting news for those in Orangeburg and surrounding areas. Since 2006, HopeHealth has been known for its work in the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. In the last few years, we expanded services in this area to include primary care and an on-site pharmacy. Now, we are offering Rheumatology with the addition of Martin Weiss, MD, FACR. Dr. Weiss is a board-certified internist and rheumatologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune disorders of the joints, bones, and muscles. Exciting news for those in Manning and surrounding areas! The Diabetes Institute at HopeHealth, which offers the most comprehensive diabetes care in the Pee Dee Region, has expanded services to Clarendon County. Board-certified Endocrinologist Dr. Melissa Gonzalez Lara is now seeing patients in Manning. “Our practice is committed to providing excellent care to our patients. In addition to diabetes, we treat other endocrine-related conditions, including thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, parathyroid, and calcium disorders, as well as osteoporosis. Treatment is always individualized for each patient, and we communicate with the patient’s primary health care provider to coordinate care.” Dr. Gonzalez explains.
