Are fully self-service stores the future of urban retail?🛒 The concept of fully self-service stores, like Amazon Go, where customers shop without traditional checkouts, is gaining traction, especially in urban areas where speed and convenience are crucial. These stores leverage advanced technology to provide a seamless shopping experience, allowing customers to simply grab what they need and leave. As self-serve retail expands, staff roles will evolve from cashiers to customer service and troubleshooting experts. This shift can enhance the shopping experience by allowing staff to focus on personalized service and resolving issues, rather than just processing transactions. However, the journey towards widespread adoption is not without challenges. Technical glitches and theft prevention are significant hurdles. Moreover, not all customers prefer the self-service model, highlighting the importance of offering both self-service and traditional checkout options to cater to diverse preferences. What are your thoughts on the future of self-service retail? Share your insights below! #Omnichannel #Retail #ShoppingandtheRetailIndustry

How overproduction impacts the textile industry? Each year, approximately 100 billion pieces of clothing are produced for a global population of 8 billion, which equates to over two pieces of new clothing per person annually. Alarmingly, about 30 billion pieces—30% of all production—never even reach consumers and are discarded straight into landfills. To tackle this challenge, retailers must rethink their production processes, reduce waste, and advocate for sustainable practices. Want to dive deeper into the impact of overproduction and what can be done about it? Check out our latest #podcast episode with Johan Munck for more insights! https://hubs.la/Q02MkrFY0 #Omnichannel #Retail #ShoppingandtheRetailIndustry #Sustainability Polarn O. Is your in-store order picking process consuming too much time and effort, reducing your overall fulfillment efficiency? In-store order fulfillment reliant on manual picking processes presents significant challenges for retailers. Are you using NetSuite for inventory management in stores? NetSuite offers a centralized solution for retailers, streamlining tasks such as creating purchase orders for procuring new inventory, generating transfer orders for inventory transfer between locations, and consolidating company-wide data. At the company level, storing all data in NetSuite is highly beneficial, as it serves as a central repository for inventory and financial data. Many retail stores use NetSuite for inventory management processes such as receiving purchase orders, processing transfer orders, and conducting cycle counts. However, leveraging NetSuite at the store level presents several challenges. 🔶 Cost: NetSuite charges a per-user fee, which can be costly for retailers with numerous stores and users, making it a costly affair for store-level deployments. 🔶 Complexity: NetSuite, designed for complex warehouse management, may overwhelm store associates due to its extensive features, unsuitable for store operations which call for user-friendly interfaces. Store staff would need training and time to familiarize themselves with the system, resulting in additional costs and potential productivity losses during the learning curve. 🔶 Low Adoption Rates: NetSuite's complexity may deter store associates from fully adopting it, hampering store operations. Employees might prefer simpler alternative tools or may resort to time-consuming manual processes. HotWax Commerce resolves these challenges by offering a ready integration with NetSuite. The dedicated Store Inventory Management Suite provides intuitive apps like Inventory Receiving and Cycle Counting. These apps streamline in-store receiving of transfer orders and purchase orders created in NetSuite, perform scheduled cycle counts, and log any inventory variances. This enables retailers to automate inventory receiving, maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure efficient inventory management at the store level while letting store associates perform routine tasks uninterruptedly. Exciting new update from HotWax Commerce!🎉 Retailers selling kit products on Shopify such as bundles or pairs, previously depended on third-party apps like Bundles for inventory management. This often led to integration challenges. HotWax Commerce now supports direct inventory computation for kit products, eliminating the need for external tools. Our platform calculates the inventory of kit products based on the lowest available quantity among the individual components. For example, if a kit includes a Sunglass (7 in stock) and a frame case (10 in stock), the kit’s inventory become 7. This enhancement improves user experience and operational efficiency by integrating kit inventory management directly into HotWax Commerce, ensuring accurate stock levels and streamlined order fulfillment.
