    💡 SAP Insights: Let’s Talk About Pay Pay is probably one of the last big work-related taboos, but that’s changing because of pay equity and transparency laws. For example, job postings in some places are now required to include salary. Newer generations of workers who understand that talking about compensation is an important part of pay equity are less likely to shy away from sharing salary info. For companies – the payers – there are so many variables to setting compensation that it can be difficult to get it down to a science. Pay rates are generally based on history and market comparisons, not employee value. Employees in general like their jobs and their bosses. They would also like more pay transparency. Employers shouldn’t see that desire as a threat but as an opportunity, argues Jake Rosenfeld, author of You’re Paid What You’re Worth: And Other Myths of the Modern Economy. Rosenfeld explains that sharing compensation structures and decisions will help build trust. It can also help formulate better compensation metrics.     💡 SAP Insights: Beating Bias in AI AI will never be the technology that can be used without supervision, regardless of the hype. Sure, it can help weed out biases, find the best info and job candidates, and help us break out of our habits. But AI only works with what we’ve taught it, and if we’ve taught it to be biased or inaccurate, that’s what we’ll get. For HR to end bias and get the best results, we’ve got to constantly monitor AI tools.
