HudsonAlpha had a great experience attending BIO Alabama's 2024 Conference! The event featured insightful speakers representing many facets of the bioscience industry. Among them was City of Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba, who shared an update on biotech and agtech growth in the Wiregrass. A panel of economic development professionals included Colton Cureton, EdD, MPA, Vice President of Economic Development with the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, and Sam Jackson, Director of Greening the Southeast. At the conference’s investor pitch portion, HudsonAlpha resident associate companies and AgTech Accelerator graduates comprised almost half of the participating innovative startups, with Jae Spivey of Ephemrial emerging as the pitch competition winner. Ephemeral joined the HudsonAlpha campus earlier this year with an impactful mission to develop its sustainable, plant-based alternatives to single-use plastics. As the conference’s badge sponsor and long-time advocate for advancing the state’s life sciences industry, HudsonAlpha is proud to be a member of BIO Alabama. #BIOAlabama2024 #biology #economicdevelopment
