I’ve seen the impacts of groundwater complexity firsthand, talking with partners in the food & beverage manufacturing space across the US. There are highly inconsistent standards for well water draws; unclear ownership as aquifers often cross city, county, and state boundaries with disparate protections in place; and incentives that reward over-drawing (even in drought prone regions!!!)
