Excited to share that I've just completed the Creative Thinking for Complex Problem Solving course at IDEO U! 🎉🧠 This insightful course has transformed my approach to tackling complex challenges. Here are some key takeaways 🔹 Play x Rigor: The power of balancing creative exploration with analytical thinking.  🔹 Embracing Complexity: Viewing intricate problems as opportunities rather than obstacles.  🔹 Reframing Questions: Sometimes, the key to innovation lies in asking better questions, not just seeking answers.  🔹 Stakeholder Engagement: The shift from 'designing for' to 'designing with' stakeholders.  🔹 Future-focused thinking: Exploring techniques to balance immediate needs with long-term visions. One of my favourite exercises was the Futures Triangle by Sohail Inayatullah. which helped me evaluate the weight of the past, the push of the present, and the pull of the future in problem spaces. Thank you to the IDEO U team Donna Teuber, Sofia nunez Gonzalo Perez Paredes for another fantastic learning experience. 🙏 #CreativeThinking #ComplexProblemSolving #AI #DesignThinking #Innovation

Navigating ambiguity isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about guiding your team through the unknown, one step at a time. Start by being self-aware, naming the challenges, staying curious, and taking small steps forward.   You are the creator and facilitator for ensuring the right conditions for innovation to emerge and allow your team to build the path ahead, no matter how uncertain, together. https://ideo.in/3X5LnOb #Leadership #Innovation #Ambiguity

When you think about how to use the technology, it's good to step back and think about your mindset or philosophy. As I reflected throughout my career, I realized I was choosing a humanistic approach—making the technology so that its inherent purpose is to benefit humans, individually or collectively. —Tom Gruber, Product Designer, Entrepreneur, and Co-Creator of Siri Visit the link to listen to our latest podcast episode with Tom Gruber discussing Humanistic AI: https://ideo.in/3TssF2v

Young people are often making their way through a new industry, and they don't know their place yet. The organizational structure of the company may feel arcane and impossible to navigate, and as their manager, you are their only window into that hidden world. If they can get to a place where they can independently understand how to be successful and grow, then they can do a lot of great work without direct supervision. Author of 10 to 25: The Science of Motivating Young People and Professor of Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin, David Yeager, discusses the strategies to adopt a better mentor mindset. You can’t be successful on your own. Success usually involves many different people in your life, whether they are your family, friends, colleagues, or mentors. They all have a shared purpose of building you up, calming your fears, and reminding you that you’re capable of achieving your goals.  Build your community of cheerleaders by being generous with the people around you. Give, help others, be accessible, vulnerable, and supportive. And you’ll receive so much more in return. —Wisdom from author of Unapologetically Ambitious, Shellye Archambeau Visit our Creative Confidence Page to listen to the episode: https://ideo.in/4dmp0uI

Picture this: you’ve clocked long hours working diligently on a new idea. A-ha! You finally reach that breakthrough moment and sigh a breath of relief as you prepare to present it to leadership. The response—they tell you the team can’t take on this new idea right now. The feeling of having something that matters to you rejected will likely feel like a punch in the gut. But often, the “no” isn’t based on the strength of your idea but is a result of not considering other factors.  In the first part of our 3-Part Series on Roadblocks to New Ideas, we share tips on navigating the common roadblock of resistance to change. Roadblock #1: Aversion to change The team or leadership isn’t interested in new ideas because of previous project failures or fear of the unknown.
