The Illinois State Police mourns with the Alton Police Department the loss of K9 Officer Odin, a recent graduate of the Illinois State Police Academy, Canine Class #89. K9 Officer Odin was shot and killed during an apprehension attempt of a shooting suspect. K9 Officer Odin worked to keep officers and communities safe and our hearts go out to Odin's partner and the entire Alton Police Department. #NeverForget #ILStatePolice 

This week, ISP attend El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC)’s 27th Annual Motor Vehicle Criminal Interdiction Association (MVCI) Conference. Three of ISP’s troopers were honored on a national level for the following: 𝟏. 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐢𝐳𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐂 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 - $𝟗𝟕𝟐,𝟓𝟗𝟎 𝟐. 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐢𝐳𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐂 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 – 𝟓,𝟐𝟒𝟔 𝐋𝐁𝐒 𝟑. 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐢𝐳𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐂 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 – 𝟏𝟐𝟓 𝐊𝐆 ISP officers also had the top four cocaine seizures in the nation for 2023. Along with the above award, ISP officers also seized 115 KG, 114.7 KG, and 103 KG during three different traffic stops. This is a momentous achievement and is the first time in ISP History to have nationwide leaders in three out of six significant categories in 2023.
