To say we’re going to “miss you” is an understatement. Today marks the end of an era as we say “see you later” to Julie Navickas, director of student success and recruitment here in the School of Communication. Having stepped into the role in October 2013, Julie leaves a decade-long legacy behind. Best wishes on your new role at COUNTRY Financial, Julie! You will indeed be missed! . . . . #SchoolofCommunication #FellHall #BestintheMidwest

Did you know? Even though internships are not required, more than 75% of our #SchoolofCommunication students have at least one internship before they graduate - and more than 40% complete at least two! Meet Shelby Hodel, senior public relations major and intern with the School of Communication’s Special Events Team (COMSET). ➡️ How did you find this opportunity? “I was told about it by former SOCPD interns.” ➡️ What kinds of tasks have you performed so far? “I help to plan events within the School of Communication as well as create promotional materials for the Career COM-petency program.” ➡️ How do you see this internship opportunity contributing to your future career? “I would like to continue to work in higher education, and this internship has been a great foundation to that path!” ➡️ What are you learning from (or about) your internship supervisor? “I have gained experience in event planning, content creation, leadership, and problem solving.” Professional internships are just one of the many opportunities we ensure our students are competitive candidates in the job market. To learn more about our internship program, contact Tom Lamonica at [email protected] or visit us at https://lnkd.in/eEcnb8UP! . . . . . #RedbirdProud #IllinoisStateUniversity #IllinoisState #InternshipSpotlight #BestintheMidwest
