We are so proud to have served more than 1,250 people at our food box event in Aurora over the weekend in partnership with the Aurora Police Department and other local agencies. The Salvation Army handed out 300 food boxes (100 of them were picked up within the first 20 minutes!) and provided 900 meals to members of the Aurora community. The need for our food services continues to grow and The Salvation Army is stepping up to provide hope and vital resources for our neighbors in need. We will host another free food box event on August 24th from 11 am to 2 pm in the parking lot of the former Walmart Neighborhood Market: 10400 E Colfax Ave. in Aurora. The Salvation Army-Aurora Colorado food pantry is open Mondays through Thursdays from 10 am to noon and 1 pm to 3 pm at 802 Quari Ct. Providing services and hope to those in need in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and eastern Montana for 130+ years.
About us
“Doing the Most Good.” In these four words, our mission – to feed, to clothe, to comfort, to care, to rebuild broken homes and broken lives. By walking with the addicted, we can lead them to recovery. By fighting hunger and poverty, we can feed and nurture the spirit. And, by living and sharing the Christian Gospel and meeting tangible needs, we give the world a lasting display of the love behind our beliefs. The Salvation Army operates nearly 100 social service agencies strategically placed throughout Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Eastern Montana. Material and spiritual support is our standard - social services delivered with compassion is our model - anyone in need is our prerequisite. Eighty-two cents of every dollar we raise supports our various programs. We are a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and contributions are deductible for Federal Income Tax Purposes to the extent permitted under Section 170(b)(2) for corporations. An international movement, The Salvation Army is an evangelical arm of the universal Christian Church. Our message is based on the Bible, and our ministry is motivated by the love of God. We preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

“They went out of their way to donate to kids like me!” When you donate to Pack A Backpack, you’re giving kids more than just a new backpack–you’re giving them confidence. Our Pack A Backpack program, in partnership with Denver7 and sponsored by Les Schwab Tire Centers, is officially underway and we need your help to reach our goal of 4,000 backpacks this month! A $25 donation covers the cost of a backpack, filled with brand new school supplies, for a child in need. Or, you can drop off new school supplies to any Les Schwab Tires location near you. We had the privilege of meeting with our friends at UCHealth yesterday to explore our vision for the future to deliver addiction recovery programs in Wyoming, where we share a footprint. We are so grateful for friends like UC Health who come alongside us, believe in our work, and provide high level feedback and thought leadership as we map out a bold vision for the future. Many thanks to CEO, Liz Concordia, Dani Andrade , and Ryan Rohman , we appreciate you and look forward to continued conversations & collaboration with our friends at UC Health!

This Memorial Day Weekend, we honor those who've put our freedom above all else. Eric, an Army Veteran from Colorado Springs, recently had the honor of participating in a poignant wreath-laying ceremony with The Salvation Army Commissioners Kenneth and Jolene Hodder at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Eric, a graduate of the Colorado Springs Salvation Army Transitional Housing program, spoke about how The Salvation Army “honestly, completely saved my life.” Listen in. On this Memorial Day, The Salvation Army encourages you to remember those who have given their lives for our freedoms, and to honorably work to preserve the freedoms they fought to establish and protect. May God bless you, your loved ones, and the America we are all blessed to call home. #MemorialDay #LoveBeyond #Service #DoingTheMostGood #SalvationArmy #LoveBeyondConflict

“When I was living on the streets, I was stressed out all the time. Not knowing what’s going to happen minute to minute is draining—emotionally and mentally draining.” At The Salvation Army, we do much more than just offer people a warm bed to sleep in. Wraparound services are vital in the rehabilitation process for shelter residents like Laura, who was one of the first people admitted into our hotel shelter, Stone Creek. We offer a wide range of free medical services, social services, AA and recovery programs, and mental health resources. Laura was able to access all of these programs during her stay at Stone Creek, and we’re proud to report she is in the process of transitioning into permanent housing this month! Take a look inside her journey here:
