Fragile X Awareness Month is celebrated every July, with National Fragile X Awareness Day on July 22. Fragile X is a genetic disorder that can cause a range of developmental and intellectual disabilities in people. It's the most common inherited cause of intellectual disability, and can also cause physical, behavioral, and emotional difficulties. July is Disability Pride Month! The theme for 2024 is "We want a life like yours," which comes from The Arc’s National Council of Self-Advocates. It reflects the disability community’s dreams for life experiences that they are too often denied. InCommunity has been providing services to individuals with I/DD for 45 years. InCommunity would like to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July holiday. Today we celebrate the INdependence of our nation and shed light on INterdependence. As a service provider to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we pride ourselves on offering meaningful support to the individuals and their families and caregivers. We wish you all a wonderful day of gratitude for our nation’s freedom for all.   Our office is closed, and will resume normal operating hours on Friday, July 5th.
