About us

Across the US, only 51% of public schools provide basic Computer Science education. This number is even lower in rural areas and among underrepresented communities. As the world becomes increasingly digital, preparing students with STEM skills is crucial to accessing job opportunities and growth in the future. Infosys Foundation USA is a non-profit organization focused on bridging the digital divide in America. It aims to give children, young adults, and workers across the United States the skills they need to become creators, and not just consumers, of technology. Infosys Foundation USA supports computer science education and training, particularly for those in underrepresented communities. This includes grants and domain expertise for non-profit organizations engaged in delivering services, research, and advocacy. Infosys Foundation USA builds on the 20-year community-focused heritage of the Infosys Foundation.

We are thrilled to have our Chairperson highlight the critical importance of empowering educators in this age of AI. Through our Infosys Springboard USA digital learning platform, we're dedicated to advancing AI education in this rapidly evolving technology landscape.   As proud members of the global Advisory Committee of TeachAI, the Foundation is actively shaping policies and resources that guide educators to teach with and about AI. Our Pathfinders Summer Institute just trained over 1,200 educators this summer with AI-focused content, such as the “AI Bits & Bytes” series, equipping them with cutting-edge tools and resources to bring AI education to all students.   UNESCO’s Digital Learning Week underscores the urgent need for equitable access to technology education. By working together, we can advance SDG 4 and forge powerful partnerships to provide opportunities to those who need them the most.   To access “AI Bytes and Bites” on the Infosys Springboard USA digital learning platform, click here: https://lnkd.in/drTwHbY8

🌍 Yesterday on day 1 of UNESCO's Digital Learning Week, Infosys’ Group General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer Inderpreet Sawhney took the stage at the plenary alongside global leaders to discuss AI competencies for children. Inderpreet spoke about how Infosys is helping to bridge the digital divide through Infosys Springboard, ensuring that everyone has access to quality learning. She went on to shine a light on the crucial role teachers play in this mission, speaking about Infosys’ Pathfinders Summer Institute in the US where we bring in over 1,000 teachers to educate the educators. This approach creates a powerful multiplier effect, extending the reach of knowledge far beyond the classroom. Her final message emphasized a critical point: less than 3% of humanitarian funding is allocated to education in emergencies. Forums like Digital Learning Week provide a powerful platform to explore how private institutions, universities, governments, and nonprofits can partner to create an environment to bring opportunities to those who need them most. In honor of this year's theme for #InternationalYouthDay being "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development" we’re excited to share how the Foundation has expanded our collaboration with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America by hosting local students from Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston and Boys and Girls Club of Harlem at our Infosys offices. By leveraging our resources and expertise from passionate volunteers, we aim to inspire young minds and provide them with the skills needed for a technology-enabled future.   In Houston, middle and high school students participated in an engaging career chat with volunteers who spoke about how Infosys is advancing the use of #AI, and how they personally utilize AI in their jobs. The students also engaged in hands-on #STEM activities, utilizing the state of the art AR/XR equipment in the Infosys Living Lab. Additionally, students from the Harlem Boys and Girls Club made their way via NYC subway to our HQ at One World Trade where mentors from Infosys and WongDoody conducted a digital skills bootcamp, instructing them on UX/UI and app design, as well as project management. The event concluded with a candid Q&A session from Infosys InStep summer interns who shared honest advice about college and job interviews, what to expect when you first join the work force, how to not get deterred after rejection and much more. Together, we are ensuring youth are prepared for a technology enabled future. We’d like to extend a thank you to:   Amit Prakash, Diana N., Rabbiya Moten, Robert Little, PMP, David Sydney, Zachary White, Jessica-Lee Smith, Daniel J. Alfaro, Rumela Mitra, Andrew Schon, Vivian H., Matthew Chen, Gaius Benbow and a special thank you to InSteppers Elliot Gudis, Brian Polanco, CSM, Liora Gonicman Hatice G. #DigitalSkills #YouthinTech

With summer in full swing, we’re excited to spotlight the great connections our Hartford Infosys employees have made in their community.   💻In support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, volunteers coordinated highly interactive STEM projects for students to explore that leveraged the state-of-the-art makerspaces sponsored by the Foundation.   👨🎓Infosys volunteers worked as mentors with local high school students enrolled in ReadyCT’s G.R.I.T intern program where they helped students design an app to improve their school district’s busing system, as well as to develop a prototype for a school database that aims to make grade management easier for both students and teachers using AI. Mentors provided invaluable constructive feedback to the students who are pursuing careers in technology. 🤖Volunteers suited up for the MakerspaceCT MakerBattles where they supported the edge-of-your seat robot battles conducted by local students and families.   Thank you to all the incredibly dedicated and passionate Infosys volunteers who have supported this great work in Hartford:   Minal Avachat, Aparna Pardeshi, Dhananjay PatankarMargaret Seiche, Paridhi Anil Kumar Garg, Chidinma Nze, Supriya S., Jatinder Chohan, Srishti G., Aparna Chakraborty, Anjali Jabagond, Vinay Balavant Kadam and Pranav Prajapati.

It’s a wrap at #CSTA2024! The Foundation was excited to see new friends and old under the neon lights of Las Vegas last week. During our breakout session “A Deep Dive Conversation with CS Teaching Excellence Awardees”, Foundation ED Kate Maloney hosted a panel discussion with four 2024 CS teaching Excellence awardees who shared candid insights about their passion for CS and what it meant to receive this distinction. Later that night, the Foundation dressed to the nines to honor both the 2024 winners and honorable mentions, as well as select 2023 winners recognized virtually last year. We’re incredibly proud to sponsor this award which puts a well-earned spotlight on educators who are keeping pace with technology while shaping the future of computer science education. Thank you to all the educators, Computer Science Teachers Association Team members and partners who made CSTA2024 an unforgettable four days. So long Vegas!🌟

The Foundation had a vibrant ‘mission’ oriented week at #NAFNext2024. Artificial Intelligence is reshaping education, and the biggest question remains: how do we safely and ethically integrate it into our classrooms? Foundation ED Katherine E. Maloney and Malur Narayan, VP Technology, Emerging Tech & Sustainability for Tata Consultancy Services delivered a thought-provoking session on responsible #AI integration and industry readiness – including highlights of TeachAI resources - to a room full of curious NAF educators. We also hosted an innovation studio session, with NAF Curriculum Collaboration Lab educators Amanda Glunz, Carmielle Darden, and Sondra Sanford to showcase resources specifically curated for NAF students and educators on the Infosys Springboard ‘Digital Academy’. As always, we leave inspired to help shape a more equitable and innovative future in education. #OurMission #BeFutureReady
