  • Check out this week’s shipbuilder spotlight! After serving six years in the Marine Corps, Olivia Bosarge was inspired by her father’s career in the shipyard and enrolled in the Ingalls Apprentice School. After graduating as journeyman, she worked her way up to a test foreman in the Pipe department. Even in her role as a foreman, she’s constantly learning different things about her crew and offering tips to help them perfect their craft. Thank you for your leadership, Olivia! August 4 marks 234 years of the U.S. Coast Guard! HII is proud to support the nation’s oldest continuous sea service by providing the U.S. Coast Guard with the venerable National Security Cutters (NSC), proudly built by Ingalls Shipbuilding, a Division of HII. Pictured is the Ingalls-built USCG Cutter Waesche (WSML 751). This brave crew completed a highly-successful 112-day patrol with the US Navy in the Indo-Pacific. Waesche was assigned to Destroyer Squadron 15 in the U.S. Seventh Fleet. While deployed, Waesche’s crew strengthened maritime governance and preserved maritime sovereignty alongside our U.S. allies. The cutter stopped in Honolulu, Hawaii, yesterday en route her homeport in Alameda, Calif. Bravo Zulu to the Waesche crew and best wishes on a safe journey home! And Happy Birthday, U.S. Coast Guard!! 🥳 #SemperParatus

  • In honor of #NationalInternDay, we would like to spotlight the great work recently accomplished by the Information Technology interns. The IT department interns supported Production Control during inventory of the pipe shop storeroom. This process involves tedious work inputting data and transactions in the Industrial & Financial Systems. With the interns' support, inventory was completed in an efficient and timely manner, allowing PC to focus on other critical tasks in the shipyard. Thank you to all our interns at Ingalls for making a difference!
