Business + Engineering Women in Tech (BEWiT) hosted its inaugural Hack-a-thon earlier this month, with nine teams of students building apps based on provided prompts and competing for prizes! Each team had an industry expert available throughout the day to act as a sounding board and mentor. Experts also were invited to judge the student presentations, and Buffs had the opportunity to hear from a panel of professional women talking about their career journeys, followed by a networking event. We had another tremendous year of innovation at the University of Colorado Boulder. Campus researchers and inventors created a strong crop of 162 breakthrough technologies this past year. These spanned the breadth of CU Boulder’s research expertise, with innovations in climate tech, biotechnology, quantum science, optics and aerospace, to name a few. Innovation is at the heart of CU Boulder's values and mission. One way we innovate is by translating our research into new solutions to improve life across the globe.
