🇧🇩 On this Independence Day, as we pay tribute to our martyrs, let's also stand with the families and survivors burdened by intergenerational trauma. War's scars run deep, affecting both direct victims and their descendants. Recognizing their ongoing struggles is crucial. Trauma's legacy can shadow lives for generations. But within this darkness lies hope. Today, let's renew our commitment to healing and resilience. Let's offer compassion and support, making mental health resources a priority. Together, let's build a culture of empathy and empowerment. Let's ensure survivors and families find strength in their stories and voices heard in their journey to healing. Deep Wounds and Distant Echoes: Exploring the Intergenerational Trauma Aftermath of the Liberation War of Bangladesh. Today we honor the enduring spirit of liberation, heroism, and selflessness. 🕊️💫 Intellectual Martyr Altaf Mahmud's legacy lives on as a beacon of infinite freedom. His home safeguarded the arsenal of hope during our war for liberation in 1971. Facing unimaginable adversities, he stood firm, protecting his comrades even in his final breath. 🙏 His daughter, Shawan Mahmud, continues this legacy, touching souls with her storytelling session on intergenerational trauma at the Dhaka Wellbeing Summit. Her insights on the scars left by war, the strength drawn from her family's story, and the pressing need for accessible counseling services, remind us of the silent battles many still fight today. 🌱💔 Her proposal to weave mental health support into the fabric of our educational system is not just a call to action, but a guide toward healing and understanding. Shawan’s advocacy sheds light on the significance of mental well-being in the aftermath of war — a tribute to her father's memory and a torch of hope for future generations. 🔦❤️ On this solemn Black Night of 25th March, on the eve of Independence Day of Bangladesh, we remember the sacrifices of our martyrs. We strive towards a future where every war survivor’s trauma release for help echoes into compassionate action and where the shadows of the past are met with the comfort of progress.💡✨ The Wellbeing Project #regionalwellbeingsummits #twbshdka

In the darkest recesses of loss and grief, there is a subtle alchemy, an enlightenment where the soul takes the front stage. At the recent Wellbeing Summit Dhaka, Counseling Psychologist Andalib Mahmud shared a profound session on "Coping with Grief and Loss," highlighting that true strength lies in allowing ourselves to feel and express our deepest emotions. Her session, rooted in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Mental Health First Aid, guided participants to recognize that within our grief, our pain can transform into our greatest strength. By shifting our perspective, we can embrace pain as a catalyst for growth and strength, allowing us to cultivate healing and resilience in our lives. Participants successfully managed to uncover their coping strategies, tap into their inner strengths, and cultivate a positive mindset with the expert guidance of Andalib.
