On July 26, Kenna Lawson took a lap around the bases with her father at the Chickasaw Ballpark as the INTEGRIS Health “Home Run For Life” series continues during the 2024 OKC Baseball Club season. The whole family got involved with Kenna's father running the bases and greeting the players, and her older brother throwing the first pitch of the game. The physicians, caregivers and patients in the Paul Silverstein Burn Center at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center got a surprise visit from Kane Hodder, the man behind the Jason Voorhees mask! As a fellow burn survivor, he spoke with the patients, heard their stories and offered words of support and encouragement while he's in town for the Oklahoma City Horror Convention. During his visit, the physicians and caregivers also gave him a tour of the unit and explained the different treatments they offer. We couldn't be more thankful for Kane's visit, and hope to see him again soon!

INTEGRIS Health Children’s recently hosted its annual Neonatal Intensive Care Unit reunion at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center. The special event offered an opportunity for families to reconnect with their medical teams and celebrate the progress and growth of children who began their lives in the NICU. Kenna Lawson may only be six years old, but she’s become a regular at INTEGRIS Health Children’s. At just four months old, Kenna was diagnosed with Angelman syndrome, a rare neurological condition. She is missing a gene on her 15th chromosome, which causes developmental delays and seizures. Kenna has also endured numerous other medical conditions already in her young life, receiving treatment and care at several INTEGRIS Health locations throughout the Oklahoma City area. In 2021, Kenna developed a rare but life-threatening disease that almost took her life. After spending time at INTEGRIS Health, the staff was able to help Kenna's health improve. She and her family will be honored Friday, July 26 as the INTEGRIS Health “Home Run For Life” series continues during the 2024 OKC Baseball Club season at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
